Very interesting and informative. We enjoyed learning the history of the Conoco company, the area around Ponca City, and the history of E.W. Marland and how he built (and lost) the company. He was way ahead of his time in how well he treated his employees, they had many benefits (such as medical insurance) that other companies did not have.

The Conoco Museum is a free museum right across the street from the Phillips 66 refinery in Ponco City. It is well worth stopping to see. It traces the history of the company from its founding. Because Conoco has such a long history, this effectively gives you a great overview of the oil industry in Oklahoma as well. Very interesting, and very well done.

The museum is very clean, bright and pretty. There was only one or two hands on activity. (One was broke). Admission being free was very nice. It is all about the oil and gas industry so if that does not excite you, you should definitely not go. But if you are interested at all about how ConocoPhillips came to be it is worth the visit.

We added this museum because we had time - I must confess I was not enthused - however, this was a fascinating look at the oil industry which I admit I knew very little about beyond the price of gas! I came away with a lot more respect for the industry than I had previously.

The museum is very enlightning;shows a lot of history and disappointments of the company. Young children may not find it interesting. I may have found it more intering because some of muy family worked for DuPointe.
