For my friends birthday we took a winery and healesville sanctuary tour. The rest of the trip was ok to good, this made it totally worth it. The lady serving was lovely (apologies, can't remember your name). This place out of the 4 we visisted (Chandon, Rochford and something else) was by far the best. The viognier is my absolute favourite!!! As well as all 6 of my friends' too!All of the wines were great, I loved all of them (and i'm not a huge red drinker, but it was delicious). Will definitely drop in again, thanks for the lovely time we had! it was fantastic.

We took our Coldstream Dairy cheese platter over to Madden's Rise today and the lovely Emma allowed us to enjoy it at the cellar door whilst sampling the Maddens Rise wines. The arcobaleno 'Rainbow' wine was a unique experience that I have never tried before, great with the hard cheese! The Reserve Chardonnay was delicious and we walked away with a bottle of the Voignier and the Rosso. It was a great experience but I think I ate too much cheese! Hopefully I don't have weird dreams tonight as it was a sweet day out :)

Turning off the Maroondah highway we almost drove past this quaint little cellar door, reversing back to make the driveway could have been the best decision of our day of wine tasting. Upon entry being happily greeted by Emma, who makes you feel at home and like you just received a big family hug. Sit and loose yourself with great views and great wine in this individual cellar door experience, made even better by Emma and her wonderful knowledge of the wines. If you’re going to do anything in the Yarra Valley this has to be it! But don't tell everyone because it’s great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the "norm" wineries.

Almost don't want to review Maddens Rise because we'd like it to remain a secret. It's a modern rendition of the original cellar door experience, a smaller bespoke vineyard doing some original things with wine. A welcome respite from the maddening crowd that shuffles around the big name vineyards. First rule about Maddens Rise club, don't talk about Maddens Rise club.

Maddens Rise has the most quaint cellar door in the Yarra Valley with fantastic views and excellent wines. But best of all is Emma who makes a visit here always so special. The place is always decorated in whatever is in season and Emma will make you feel extremely welcome. You should definitely not miss this place.

Stopped here on our visit to the wineries in Yarra Valley and it was an amazing place. The pink fizz was a perfect start and the service was amazing. If you're looking for a smaller, local experience you have to call into Maddens Rise.

What a wonderful small winery and tasting room! We were welcomed with open arms and a taste of their fabulous "pink fizz" which is much more sophisticated than it sounds. It was quiet so Emma showed us to some seats where we could sit and slowly enjoy everything we wanted to try on the menu. Definitely recommend a stop here on your trip!

This is a beautiful quaint winery and the range of wines is perfectly chosen to fit in with the Valleys range of distinctive wines. Emma made sure it was a great experience and the steady stream of people sampling her wines was testament to Maddens Rise popularity. Please try Maddens-you will not be disappointed.

Maddens Rise has a lovely cellar door with a warm welcome and a great range of wines. The red wines, in particular, have a depth and complexity that are worth coming back for. The room is small but light and airy, well decorated with fancy pumpkins and has views out over a rural Australia that seems far removed from the bustle of some of the more touristy wineries. The cellar door host, Emma, gives you time and space to enjoy the wines. She knows her stuff but doesn't impose it on you.

This is how a cellar door should be! Great wines and a friendly smile to greet you and take you on the Maddens Rise journey! Emma is the heart and soul and her personality comes out in the wines. Simply a must visit!

A real treat to visit, with amazing wines, great company and a beautiful setting. Emma's generous and friendly nature makes a visit to Madden's Rise feel more like dropping into see a friend, then on a winery visit. Really worth the trip and the support. They really are doing some amazing things here.We will be back soon!

This is a little gem! Small cellar door with some fantastic boutique wines. Emma the host is gorgeous and unlike some of its big-name neighbours it's a great place for a relaxed sit-down wine tasting, you won't want to leave without one or two of their wines.
