Having viewed Mt Wycheproof you may wish stay overnight at the Sealake town council owned caravan park. Its a great little park just off the main street with powered drive through sites, amenities that are basic but functional. Fees are payed by an honour system and there is no need to book in advance. A great little safe park which is ideal as an overnight stop when travelling the Calder highway to Melbourne

Stopped of at Wycheproof. 3.5 hrs north of Melbourne. Good stop for quiet break and few coffee shops to grab a meal or snack. Had a easy short walk to the local park which the locals should be proud of and rightly so! Neat large grassed area, bird aviaries, modern safe play equipment and huge undercover table/bench seating area with free BBQs. Some interesting 'now closed up' stores with interesting signage of days gone by. The local council building is Artdeco, old petrol pumps in Main Street, and an interesting some what quirky sculptures welded from train pegs for sale at the old petrol station opposite the Royal Mail Hotel. Worth a stop to refresh or even stay the night at the hotel for an experience of true local hospitality. hotel is very basic, no frills just an experience to enjoy.

Smallest mountain in Australia. Large water tank on top of Mt Wycheproof dominated the peak. Interesting information on the geology of the site.

It certainly was. At least I can say I have climbed a mountain :) Lovely views all around. Definitely a place to check out. And the town as well, as there is a train track that runs through the town.

I loved sitting on the mountain, looking out onto the park and green farmland. The country breeze flowing in my hair and the fresh clean air healing me. A truly spiritual place where the Bulla Bulla Wyche Clan must of sat many years ago! A must look out!!! :)
