We loved the trip right into the outback. Wonderful scenery with lots of wildlife. Make sure to carry enough water with you. There is absolutely nothing in this area.

Captain Starlight was a rare Australian Bushranger. Rare as in he was found not guilty for his crimes, with evidence being transported in for the trial and all. you would think he wouldn't have a chance, but the jury cleared him of his (rather large) theft and the story/legend began. We stopped at the information centre - best thing to do to check road conditions and directions - and grabbed the map. Also visited the local bakery for supplies and headed off on the road for a drive. now being in 'outback' Queensland, a drive could be a while - so please be aware to bring food and drink. There is a lovely lagoon on the way, but I'm unsure if even the locals swim in it let alone drink from it. So be bush aware and prepare. but a great big hill greets you when you get there and views are amazing. Take your time and enjoy sighting kangaroos, emus and local birdlife on the way and take in a bit of history. enjoy.
