Wonderful reef, and was fortunate to see plenty of life, including a Sea Cow (Dugong) from the surface having just exited from my dive!

WARNING! you will get seasick! Not for families with young childrenWith that being said, you will have a wonderful experience of this snorkelling experience if you are:Used to snorkellingThe equipment is not the best and there is no time for trying out the gear in the water. The guides are also hurrying everyone to get into the water so beginners should not accompany this trip. My wife joined the trip but she staid on the boat the whole day.Can cope with sea sicknessTrust me, even the most experienced sailor will feel weird in the stomach. All 25 people in our boat felt seasick and about 50% threw up. The rest could cope with it. Some families with children got seasick and didn't snorkel on the trip, I felt really bad for them. A suggestion is to take the seasickpill they offer you before departing.Everything happens fast when in the water / rubber boatSince the sea cow and the turtle is moving around all the time we had to use rubber boat from main boat to the animal., about 50meter or so. The master diver made sure there was something to see in the water and when he yelled "dive" then we went in the water to see the animal. Once in the water there was a hurry to catch the moving animal so I was happy I knew how to handle my gear.Life jacket is a must but I didn't feel I was loosing too much of the experience anyway with the jacket on, both sea cow and turtle was on 2m depth so I could film them all with my gopro. DO NOT TOUCH THE ANIMAL UNLESS THE ANIMAL WANTS TO BE TOUCHED. Food was quite ok. But not everyone appreciated the food because they felt seasick. The main boat took us about 45 minutes first to see a Seacow (15min to see seaow which is plenty) and then another 20minutes by boat to see a turtle. Most of the seasick people threw up at this time. 15 min to see turtle and then we had lunch on boat. After lunch there was free time for snorkelling on your own but no one did, either weather was too cold (15degrees in air) or they felt seasick. Then we headed back home, another 30 minutes or so. So we had 3 snorkelling opportunities. I saw both sea cow and turtle so I am please with the trip. I felt a bit seasick but compared to the others it was nothing. Was back at the hotel by 15:00.Mask and fins were free to borrow, wetsuit cost 5EUR to rent. I felt a bit cold (25degrees in water) but could manage without wetsuit. Do not bring first time snorkelers, do not bring people who are afraid of water, do not bring people with motion sickness, do not bring small kids. Know your snorkelling gear, bring something to take pictures in water, like gopro. Have fun!

We were able to see a sea cow and sea turtle on this trip - but I understand from the lifeguard at our hotel (Concorde Moreen) that the sea cow and sea turtles will often go to its beach. Therefore, I do not know if the extra money for this trip was worth it - but it was nice.

You can see more under water life and fishes here than at most hotel jetties. Dugongs and turtles are to be found here. The beach is good for snorkelling due to shelter of the bay. However remember to take life-jacket with you.

Organised by the guys from Tiger Marine from Coraya Beach. Picked up on time and only a short drive to Port Ghalib to pick up the boat. Short time to the bay. Missed the instructions but one of the dive guys explained what was going to happen. Some went off in the boat to find the turtle, we swam to where it was. It is a very large turtle. Despite being told not to put your feet down over the turtle, certain people just didn't understand and the poor thing wasn't happy. Most people only did one snorkel and spent the rest of the time on the boat. We did three and it was fantastic. Why sit on a boat when there is so much to see under the water. Best bit was our guide calling out Calamari too us????? He meant Squid. Fabulous day, well worth a visit especially if the sea is rough, this is reasonably sheltered. Choose your day carefully, the guys at Tiger Marine will tell you when the best day to visit is.

Swim few centimeters far from the Dugongo is really amazing, the barrier is not so nice... much better in Abu Dabbab

The beacha is OK, but there are nicer beaches in the area. You can see here turtles, rays and dugong if you have a luck.

The 2nd time we have visited this bay and the 2nd time of seeing the rare Dugong (sea cow). We also saw turtles, stingrays (both blue spotted and the Eagle Ray). Trip was from Port Galib and lasted from 10:15 to 16:30; good value for money.

The coral reef is superb and there are a lot of chance to meet the turtles and the dugongs. We saw 2 turtles but there was no dugong in the area that day :(

i recommend that everyone visit Marsa allam to go for a boat trip, if the intercontinental boat trips doesn't match with your schedule. u will find extra divers on the Marina has more options
