Terrapin Adventures is a whole lot of fun if you go with a group. We decided to try the Terrapin Tower, which is basically a super-tall structure with four sides. On two sides are rock-climbing walls (one is easy and one is hard) and on the other two sides are ropes/obstacle courses (rope net, tire ladder, etc.). Once you get to the top, you can go down in a worm-like net (which you have to wriggle your way down headfirst) or just climb down a cargo net. It's a whole lot of fun to try this stuff out, but be warned that it is extremely exhausting. For the tower package they give you 2 hours of activity time, but you will get tired out within the first 30 minutes and it's hard to keep going after that. The ziplining is a whole bunch of fun, however, and I highly recommend it. We only went once but I kind of wish we did it twice. It doesn't have a particularly beautiful view or anything, but it's fast and long and a real rush. They also have a giant swing and a high ropes obstacle course, both of which looked like a lot of fun. I highly recommend you check this place out if you're in the area and looking for some outdoorsy/active fun with a group. I really want to go back soon and tackle more of the courses!

Our women's group of 40-50 year olds went here for an afternoon. We did some mostly silly team games but the big attraction was the zip line and the giant swing. We all got outside our comfort zones a bit but had a great time climbing up the ladder to jump into the air for the zip line and swinging high, high in the air. Okay, so maybe I screamed a bit but it made us feel like young girls again! Our adventure was called Zip and Sip so we finished our afternoon with a wine and cheese party in the party room. Very fun!

To celebrate an upcoming birthday, I wanted to challenge myself. The Zip Line at Terrapin Adventures was amazing. Imagine walking on a high wire holding on to a rope. Twenty feet above the ground, tethered in safely but definitely feeling the distance to the ground. I reached a tiny platform and jumped off with no hesitation. Great feeling to face your fears and just take that leap. I really appreciated the friendly staff and had a great time. Can't wait to visit again.

I have heard of Terrapin Adventures for some time, but have never been there. Today I took my husband for Father's Day, and it was amazing. Who knew that this gem of an attraction is hidden right next to the back parking lot behind Savage Mill. You do have to be in somewhat good shape to get the most out of the experience, but I was amazed at the complex design and diversity of the high ropes tower and rock tower. They are enormous. I watched a little girl wimper in fear being latched into the zip line and come back with the biggest smile of pride ever. You could have heard me screaming for about 10 miles as I did the "George-of-the-Jungle" giant swing, but it was awesome. The guides were terrific - firm but funny. I don't understand why it's not front and center on all of the tourism literature about Maryland.

When I asked my daughter what she wanted to do for her 16th birthday party, she said she wanted to go to Terrapin Adventures with her friends. They did the high ropes course and giant swing and had a blast. I really appreciated that the staff took photos and shared them with us. All the girls had a great time and talked about returning again.

We were honored to have you. It's a great course for service men and women. We often have military groups for team building and they tend to come back with their family and friends for fun. We truly appreciate your service and your taking the time to review our course.

So glad you enjoyed it. We often list specials on our events page or we post them on our facebook page. This way you can try out some of the other programs we run like kayaking trips or the upcoming Mud Run.

We have had three open to the public kayak bbq tours since the Zozi deal and have open dates on August 3, 10, and September 7th. We also tell people that if those dates do not work, to call us to see if we can arrange a mutually agreeable date.

Instead of fighting the crowds this Memorial Day weekend in DC or the Inner Harbor we visited Terrapin Adventures in Savage MD and a fun time was had by the entire family. Mom and Dad as well as our 13 and ten year olds enjoyed the zipline adventure as well as the large "swing". Having done ziplining in the past the zip line was fun but certainly more entry level than those we have done in the Smoky Mountains. The swing was a tremendous attraction which stirred up my stomach with its tantalizing slow climb to the top and g force plummet to the bottom. I may not get the guts to do that ne again.Very informative and friendly staff made the adventure even more pleasurable. The place is a bit hard to find and please note the office is actually in the Savage Mill complex. We look forward to partaking in more of their activites on a next visit.

My daughter and did the big pkg $83 for 4 hours and included all things. The guides were good, but there should have been a better way to manage the "back ups" with the people, I don't know if it was over scheduling or what. Also I was surprised about how much upper body strength was needed, and I'm not in awful shape. If go take a cooler or bring drinks to keep in your car. I got awfully thirsty in 4 hrs. Zip lining was great. I recommend it.

Our guide Steve was wonderful; very knowledgeable and entertaining. This was great for beginners but not necessarily for someone who has kayaked before and it looking for a little more of a thrill. I definitely recommend this if you are new to kayaking and would like to learn how to properly handle your kayak out on the water and are looking for very calm waters to practice. Overall this was a nice, relaxing experience and the weather was perfect!! I look forward to the Terrapin Challenge and the Giant Swing!!

I won tickets for my son for "zombie apocalypse training day". He had a blast!!!!!! I didn't know there was a place so close to Baltimore that had activities like this. I am recommending it to everyone!!

I had the great opportunity to take my leadership team to Terrapin Adventures for some team building. We started with the low course and worked through several tasks that really showcased some of our weaknesses and strengths. After the exercises, we were able to blow off some steam and take advantage of the drop swing and zip line. Both gave us some moments that as a team we will never forget! The best part of the experience was the staff. Headed by Matt Baker, the Chief Adventure Officer, he has put a priority on service, closely mirroring what we believe in for our guests. Ali, the blonde ninja who lead our group, was knowledgeable, entertaining and very easy to work with. A special thank you also goes to Megan for catching us on the zip line. All in all, Terrapin Adventures is a great place for corporate fun as well and family entertainment. A few of us here are already planning our next trip to take on the high course and the climbing wall.

I am sorry that we were not able to accommodate your walk-in request. We do our best to fit guest in without detracting from those groups and individuals who reserved ahead of time. Sometimes we just cannot make it work and I hope you try in the future by booking online or calling ahead. By reserving more than 14 days ahead, we offer a 5% discount.

I was fortunate enough to go with my middle school to Terrapin Adventures at the end of the school year. The 8th graders had an excellent time, many did activities that I really don't think they would otherwise have the opportunity to do.We enjoyed the rock climbing wall (all 4 sides), the large 3 person swing (perhaps the best thrill), and the 3 story rope tower. The zipline was a bit short with not much change in elevation.Rob, our guide, was excellent at team building activities for our students. They played different games and did other activities in addition to the ones listed above, such as Tanks and Commanders - where one person out of a pair is blindfolded, the other person gives direction for the blindfoldee to get balls on the ground in order to throw them at other people who are also blindfolded. Get hit, you are out. Very fun day. I do not know how much we paid so I cannot speak to the monetary value, but we had an excellent time. My only real critique is that the staff was stingy with the pizza for lunch for non-students, and the restaurants/cafe's inside of the main building were very expensive. I recently visited North Bay and I rank Terrapin Adventures better for organization, team building, everything except for zipline (North Bay's was better).
