Lovely 1700's home that survived the early fires that destroyed so much of Salisbury. Furnished to the era. decorated to the era. Lovely docents, great tour. It's Free, but I hope you'll buy a cookbook and contribute to the upkeep!

Lovely old mansion in Salisbury, MD. Tours are given twice a month. The house is in a very quiet part of town. The garden or house, would be a nice place for a wedding. Very well kept up!

Lovely example of Federal Style Architecture. Great staff. Definitely worth visiting. They also rent the facility for events and parties. It's a beautiful mansion to host a gathering

I recently had the pleasure of taking a guided tour at the Poplar hill mansion. It is set in an area of Salisbury, which homes various old homes and buildings that have much their own history. So amongst these the mansion is indeed at home. But, between these historic sights are everyday urban homes due to this the Poplar Hill Mansion seems to rise as a diamond from the ruff - grander, more refined than its neighbors. The mansion itself is quite pleasant, with much of its original pieces, artifacts and historic artwork kept well intact. The curator of the mansion was well versed in the history of the place and was happy to explain everything from why the walls were painted a certain color to why doors were hung in certain places. The poplar hill mansion smells and creeks with history and intricacies that have been otherwise lost. If you've never been and have some spare time both the Poplar Hill Mansion and it's surrounding area are well worth a visit.
