We stopped by on a Friday afternoon for a wine tasting. The tasting cost $5 and we were able to sample about 8 different wines. The girl working was great. She told us to sit at the table and she would bring the wine over to us. She was very personable and we had a very nice time talking to her. We purchased a few bottles even opening one and having a glass there. Over a very good experience as we will be sure to return.

Stopped in with my wife and oldest daughter while on vacation. The people there were really friendly. One of the sons of the owners did our tasting and did an awesome job. They have a wide variety of wines from dry reds and whites to sweeter wines. My wife and I have very different tastes in wine, I prefer big dry reds and she like lighter sweeter whites. Both of us were very happy with their offerings, so much so we walked out with a case for home. Really nice tasting room. Everything first rate. If your in the area stop in for a wonderful time and some great wine.

Nestled in the countryside of Rising Sun, you will find a log cabin and a pavilion. You can sit outside and enjoy the view, in the cooler temperatures, you can sit around a fire and enjoy a glass or two of one of their delicious wines. Enjoy the scenic, comfy, welcoming kind of atmosphere, and great wines!

We visited 2 vineyards in the Rising Sun & Elkton, MD areas. This is the one we enjoyed very much. There are lovely vineyards near the wine tasting room. And there are buildings for parties, receptions, etc. A dog welcomes people and is very gentle and sweet, and he's on the label of Dove Valley Gold wine. The wine tastings cost a small amount (I don't remember exactly how much) and includes wine glasses. I enjoyed all of their wines, especially the Red Zinfadel. My husband makes wine from the grapes in our backyard, so he greatly enjoyed chatting with Harry Hepbron, the founder and winemaker at Dove Valley. They are open Thursday -Monday, 11am-7pm. Nice place to schedule your parties, and very enjoyable to visit & taste their wine! I look forward to going back there.

Recently, we contacted Dove Valley Winery on a Friday night at 5:30 PM to see what their hours were for that evening. They told us 7:00 PM. After driving 35 minutes out of our way (1-way) we arrived (but missed the entrance due to the very poor lighting). Once we found the unlit sign we went back the path to find 1 completely dark and 2 semi-dark buildings. Nothing was lit in the parking area - we weren't actually sure if it was the correct parking area. We could see a lady in one of the buildings at a kitchen sink washing dishes - she glanced our way, but that was about it. Since we were not sure where to go, we decided to call the number again. Twice it went directly to voice mail. The kicker was, we could hear the phone ringing beside us in the dark building. Seems they decided to close up a little after 6:00, even though we called to let them know we were coming. It was a waste of our time & gas to get there and back to where we started. Won't be stopping back there again - they made a very bad first impression with us.
