If you're feeling trapped in the hustle and bustle of city life, Arnold Arboretum offers a quiet, peaceful escape. In the spring/summer the gardens are spectacular and in full bloom. In the fall the Arboretum boasts colorful tree leaves that make any New Englander proud! Conveniently located in Cambridge.

Living within walking distance of the Arboretum is wonderful! It is a great place to refresh, exercise, enjoy the outdoors, learn about plant life, etc...Wonderful views of Boston from the top of Peter's hill. You should definitely make your way here if you are visiting Boston - especially in the Spring time!

I walk the Arboretum daily with my dogs. In the spring and summer, it is filled with flowers and trees from around the world, all labeled. In the winter, it is an escape from the business of the city. Today it is filled with snow, lots of dog walkers, and adults sledding down hills. This is a true jewel in the middle of Boston..

Great place to walk or bike the area. We do the Hub on Wheels every year and we bike through here and it is just soooo beautiful Great place to take family and have a picnic! I have been going here for 20+ years.

Worth a visit any time of year. Great place for kids to run/bike/scoot. Views from Bussey Hill are fantastic. We were regular visitors while living in Boston, and particularly enjoyed the scenery in the Fall and on really cold winter days. Never had any trouble parking - there's usually space near the Walter St Gate.

Beautiful area to walk around. They were having a special letterboxing activity the day I went, and it was fun following the clues around the arboretum looking for hidden stamps. I went on one of the "Free Museum Fridays" during the summer, so I'm not sure what the admission charge usually is. My only complaint is that some of the smaller side trails did not seem to match up to the map very well so it was occasionally hard to figure out where I was. But all of the main paved roads / trails were well marked.

It's the best arboretum in the area. Fun for walking around in nice weather. Lilac days are a big thing.

I have been visiting the Arnold Arboretum over a 50 year period. If you are visiting Boston and tire of the Freedom Trail,Quincy Market and Copley Square take a ride to visit the tranquility of Arnold Arboretum.Be sure to stop in the visitor center to get background history and a map to lead to one of the finest collections of trees anywhere.Spring and fall are the most beautiful(be sure to see the bonsai collection outdoors in season)but any day is a good time to visit. The one day to avoid is Lilac Sunday in May.Go on Saturday or Monday, the lilacs are just as pretty and the fragrance just as sweet.

I spent a lovely afternoon walking around this park and admiring the views. There are great walking paths and lot of cute dogs with their owners. I think it is difficult to get here without a car, but if you do have access to a vehicle this is a must-see!

Excellent place to walk, run, ride bikes, walk dogs (on leash). Tons of trails. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but you shouldn't let that discourage you. Very pretty at any time of year, but particularly at lilac season (May) and the fall.

The Arnold Arboretum is a great place to get lost! I have favorite places that I will probably never find again. Ditch the path and forget you're in the city!

We always walk in the Arboretum when visiting Boston. The historic collection is amazing and it's a great place for kids and dogwalkers as well. All the trees are well labeled. I'm going to read a book on "Chinese" Wilson next time I go, and visit the Visitor Center as well, as we have not done that. Easy to park.
