If you love family history and think you may have roots in the Taunton area, this stop is a must. Wonderful staff and amazing resources will help you with your genealogical pursuits. It also houses interesting artifacts and displays from past local residents.

Took my middle school (grade 7&8) class here on two separate occasions. The staff was wonderful with them! The exhibits are interesting and they worked very well with the kids, helping them with a scavenger hunt and showing them how what they were seeing related to current life. The people who work there clearly love what they do and are very committed to sharing It is free and worth the trip.

My mother and I stopped in for a visit in May 2010. We were warmly greeted and asked if we would like to see the curator's favorite items in the museum. We enthusiastically agreed and followed the women to several different exhibits where she answered our every question. Having grown up in Raynham and going on the tour as a 3rd grader, and it was as magical in 2010 as it was in 1998. We learned so much about Raynham hero Toby GIlmore and Taunton native Robert Treat Paine, that I got answers for questions the internet couldn't provide me with. Kudos to the Historical society for having such a wonderful place for Raynham and Taunton residents. Loved it! And hope to go back again!
