Went to Stoneham and Wakefield. Wonderful experience. Well run; great to see folks enjoying the water. Now if only we could convince Wakefield to stay open longer. I would love to see the trees from the lake in fall. Hope they're listening. Really reasonable and a fun outing whether you're solo or with family/friends. Yeah!

My girlfriend and I went and rented a 2 person kayak for $20 ($10 with Group-On) and we had a wonderful day. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it had a steady flow of people, but not crowded. We had to complete a waiver (a new waiver is required every time unless you are a member). We weren't given too much direction, not that we were looking for it. Just put on your life jacket, grab a paddle and get in. They shoved us off and away we went. At first it was slow going, but we quickly got the hang of it. There are a couple very small islands in Spot Pond, next time we may bring a snack so that we can do a little investigating and enjoy the scenery. It is amazing that you cannot hear the highway that borders the pond, unless you get about 50 yards from the shore.
