nahant beach

We decided we needed to investigate the peninsulas jutting out into the Atlantic, so drove North to Nahant. Great beach, ample parking. Then drove through the area to see the beautiful properties. Stunning skyline of Boston at sunset.

We were in Nahant for a wedding so we thought we would take a look at the beach whilst we were there. Whilst the beach was nice, it isn't amazing. The beach was very clean which impressed us. The houses around the area are very quaint and very different to the ones that we are used to near the beach back home in Australia. It reminded us of a postcard. It is certainly a nice relaxing place and I can why people would want to spend some time there, although I don't know how warm the water would be though as we were there in spring and it was quite cold.

Breathtaking Ocean view near a beautiful quaint city!!!! Every day I walk by this beach as part of my workout routine, safe, family and very sport oriented. It has an atmosphere of an old town in Europe. Great for spending time with the family.

I have always loved Nahant Beach, but even more so now that the extensive renovations are complete. It is such an impressive beach ... and the best $5 you can spend for beach parking! Apparently, I am not the only one to think so as one Sunday morning we arrived early (8:20 AM) to go for a walk before settling in for the day. We were shocked to find quite a large number of people already set up on the beach! Nahant Beach has sparkling clean water, especially close to the Nahant end. Occasionally, down towards the other end of the beach, there is some seaweed which isn't so great. There are two very clean bath houses (at the Lynn end and mid-way down the Causeway) as well as porta-potties spaced out along the beach (on the parking lot side). There is a Dunkin Donuts at one end of the beach, as well as The Tides Restaurant which has great casual food (indoor and outdoor dining options) plus take-out ice cream. The walking path runs the length of the beach right into Lynn so you can really go quite a distance. In short, Nahant Beach definitely has something for everyone!

Nahant beach is a perfect getaway if you live in Boston. Its just minutes to the north and is very spacious.

I needed a place to unwind in the evening and this fit the bill. It was my first time here. The beach is long and offers sea views as well as the surrounding towns. A nice place at sundown. It was extremely clean.

This was our first visit to this beach. It is all along the Nahant Road from Lynn to Nahant. You need to follow the road out of Lynn to the Nahant peninsula to enter the Park from the east at the only entrance except for a small lot at the western end near the biggest bath house. The parking lot runs the entire length of the beach and road as mostly single-file parking. We were at the Lynn end where the sand was very gravely. Not nice. It was low tide for the afternoon and we didn't venture to the water as the sand halfway there was a yellowish brown and not inviting. It appeared to be whiter further east. We may try that way the next time if we are in the area. The bath house at our end was very large and clean. Small $5 fee to park.

Como fui no outono (2011), não havia movimento na praia. Estava bem frio! Apenas algumas pessoas fazendo caminhada. Achei interessante a quantidade de sea glass (restos de garrafas bem antigas) que são levadas pela correnteza até a praia.
