I love Wompatuck! My family and I visit here all year round. There is plenty to do any season of the year. In Spring, Summer and Fall, we love riding our bikes and hiking throughout the park. There are also wonderful places to have a picnic. In the Winter, we enjoy hiking and snowshoeing. This winter has been great with the record amount of snow we had! This place makes you feel like a kid again. Who doesn't want to feel like a kid again?! The place looks so magical with all the snow covered trees, snow mounds and frozen ponds. Wompatuck is other worldly during the Winter season. Visit here, you wont be disappointed!

Sites are big but the turns can be tight with a larger camper, 20amp electric and water close with a dumpstation. Nice.

For this trip our purpose was to go into Boston; so we did not have the chance to explore the State park too much like usual. That being said, each and every encounter we had with an employee was above and beyond friendly and helpful. Our campsite was excellent, normal and what you would expect, fire ring and picnic table. The biggest problem we had was the water situation. The Bathroom's were not working. One could shower but not use the facility for relief, so there were rows of pretty gross portable "Potties" outside of the bathroom house. Hopefully that has been fixed. We would certainly stay here again when in the Boston area.

Wompatuck is an awesome park. I go there so much with my family and friends. There is so much history there. There used to be military bases. I actually just recently helped clear a trail so you should check out their newest trail.

This campground is settle in a heavy forest and the only hook up is Electric. If you go there, ask how do you find the camp site. When we got there they didn't tell us how to see the site number. Beginning of each road there is a large letter painted on the road and site number also is painted on the road.

This place is a really nice place. It has many nice campsites and great hiking trails. Any time of year is a good time to go here.

If you live in the greater south of Boston area this is a beautiful place to take your dogs for a walk.It is also fun to take your bike for a walks on a paved path in the woods! I have not done any camping but there is an area for this.

Wompatuck State Park is a hidden gem on the South Shore! Immaculate camp sites for tents and campers. The most incredible trail system for safe biking on paved trails or single track for the adventurous mountain bikers! And a very active Friends of Wompatuck volunteer group keeping the park beautiful and safe! Pack up and get out there!

Just got back from two nights at Wompatuck State Park. Had a wonderful and relaxing time. Set up our tent cooked dinner and told ghost stories with s'mores. Campsite was nice. Picnic table weathered but usable. We covered with a clean sheet. I was pleased with the lack of flyingpests (a few moths around our lights, but hey we are camping right?). Bathrooms are older, butmy partner saw them being cleaned in the a.m. Flush toilets, very soft toilet paper (for those whocare), soap at the sinks. Showers are apparently tricky. Hot water in stall 1. The other stalls apparently have very sensitive dials.....I did not know that so I got a cold shower. Found out later about the tricky dial. Did not see anyone who appeared homeless. Saw lots of popups, tents, and very large RVs. No problem with noisy people. Polite guests and helpful staff. The price was great. For those who want more, spend more at a "Resort type" campground. Wompatuck worked quite well for us. Thank you for those who made our stay pleasant. The time flew by...wish I was still there!

We've been to Wompatuck State Park several times in various seasons. We have walked the trails and gone for a bike ride on the many bike trails. Its nice and quiet and there are several small ponds throughout the park. Some of the bike paths are very hilly (or I may be getting old) but for the most part its pretty level for walking. We have not camped there but have noticed others camping and having various events at the main ranger station.

Not a place to take the family camping as lots of homeless and vagabonds live here in the summer during camping season. It is well staffed and the camp sites are spread out, Just hope you are in spot where you are comfortable. Don't leave stuff behind for the day and come back at night and expect it to be there. The roads the military built for WWII are still usable and make for a great bike ride though through the park. Very remote once you get into the interior.

We used this park to camp at while spending the day in Boston. It took us about 45 minutes on a Sat to get downtown. It was a great choice. The camp was quiet with isolated sites. It was well staffed and very affordable. The showers were average to about slightly above average.

The park is huge and camp sites are private, lots of trails and bike paths. Toilets and showers are very run down and not that clean, but didn't worry us in the RV.Boston has NO RV parks close by and this is as good as it gets.

Arrd on Memorial Weekend and it was busy. Lots of locals camp here-kids and families-nice. We have 28' 5th wheel trailer, no kids, 2 dogs. ONLY ELEC, 20amp. Water spigots nearby and sewer station at park. Check a site before you register as they are all very different. Some near standing water w/ skeeters, some narrow, some very wide, some not level at all, some perfect. Office people nice but don't know the particulars of a site, so check it out yourself. Cheap at $17 w/ Elec for out-of-state. Intended 3 nights to see Boston and Cape Cod, stayed 7 nights. Biggest negative is that there is only 1 bathroom site and 1 big dumpster for all campers and no easy access if not on that row. Would definitely stay here again for the price, the lovely trees, and the quiet.

This is a gem in Hingham. Ton of land with paved trails for walking as well as biking.....There is a camping area as well.....Highly recommended.
