The Energy Park is on the site of the old railroad station in Greenfield. It has been lovingly planted with interesting flowers and trees, possesses a delightful wooden train engine for kids to climb onto and is the venue for mostly rock, country and military bands of all kinds throughout the summer. There is never any charge for these. People often bring their own chairs and picnic suppers or lunches for some affordable family fun.

This is a marriage of park, gardens, renewable resources and entertainment venue. It is appealing to all ages, has educational value and is a great spot to see a performance or have a picnic, often free of charge or "pass-the-hat". Not to be overlooked. The weekly summer "Coop Concerts" alone are worth looking into.

Energy Park was a great idea, but the last time I walked down there... did not feel safe. The stage area which is used for some great summer performances was occupied by a group of men who were smoking and swearing and one was urinating in the bushes. The preserved railroad car had graffiti on it and the area looked dirty with visible trash that needed to be picked up. On a positve note I did see a young family there with their children enjoying playing on the small train. It was a great idea to have a town park, but it doesn't looked policed or maintained. I am a resident of Greenfield and I do not plan to walk down there again any time soon. I don't think that my experience is isolated because I have spoken to others who have had the same impressions.

Some reviews talk of sketchy characters in the park. Like any park, it is free and open to the public and can attract some wary folks. However, catch a concert here some summer evening and you will find lots of families, visitors young and old and all ages in between, enjoying the free summer concert series which happens every Thursday evening 6-8pm from the last Thursday in May through August. The town recreation dept also hosts a few Sunday concerts with well known artists. It is a gem of a spot!

Nice diversity of music in evening concerts during the summer. Like that they use solar energy to power the stage, too.

The few times I've passed here there have been teenage boys with their pants hanging low, underwear hanging out, swearing, and a few were smoking and drinking beer. They were clearly underage.. maybe 14-16 yrs old. The police get called there often enough that I wouldnt want to let my kids go there.

From hosting summer festivals and weekly concerts by local and national musicians, Greenfield's Energy Park is a beautiful venue. There is also a great playground for kids. The park is close to everything in town so grab some food to go (from a local restaurant of course) and have a picnic on park grounds. You might get a treat and be able to see the train ride by while you lunch. Enjoy the great energy and Energy Park!
