Well actually the film is pretty decent as well ...Positives: small friendly way of introducing kids to puppetry and theatre - excellent small location and brilliant show from Crabbgrass group - funny and well approached for all age groups. Improvements: none - it was fantastic value and performance for kids and adults - highly recommended!! Value for kids entertainment was excellent.

We took our 3 yo granddaughter to see the Princess, the Pirate, and the Pea. It was a perfect match. The children sit in the center of the benches so no adult is in front of them. Adults can sit with their children if they sit on the outside of the bench or in the seats along the walls. The show presented girls and boys as equals. The atmosphere was such that children just learning "theater etiquette" - not talking to the characters , sharing space, theaters darken and it is OK etc are comfortable.Icecream is for sale after along with other snacks to benefit the theater. Greenline D - Brookline Village stop is in front of the theater.

A wonderful (& low cost!) way to introduce children to the magic of puppets and of story-telling. We always take our out-of-town nieces/nephews here. They love not only the presentations but almost always get attracted by a finger or similar puppet to take home and tell their own stories

I was fortunate to take a rare class at this Theatre several years ago. With careful instruction, students were able to make 3 kinds of puppets.. hand, string and shadow and put on short performances with them. The puppeteers were wonderful talented people willing to share their knowledge. One older gentleman, a real genius in his field, also gave us a tour of his workshop upstairs, to see his puppets, complete or in different stages of development. The Puppet Showcase Theater offers afternoon performances for children as well as highly stylized performances for adults. Not to be missed Maureen MunroCambridge, MA

Young kids will love this place. Fun and simple, and a place where kids can be kids. The shows are always inventive and kids can buy puppets, too. Seating is on first come, first served so if you want to be in front come early.

My son loves this, me not so much, but since it is good for kids, its one of those things that we do now and then. My wife and I think its good that they work hard to keep Theater alive in this little community. The talent is patchy.

Clever shows and nice engagement with kids in the audiuence. A very low key and enjoyable live theatre event for kids

We saw the National Marionette Theatre at this adorable theatre, and were very pleased with the quality of the show and very reasonable priced tickets. They have a rotating array of puppet shows so best to check out the calendar of events. Highly recommended.

The shows are silly and perfect for your 5-8 year old. They always explain the rules before each show starts. If your child starts acting up in the middle of a performance and you have to leave, it's really easy and no big deal.

Frequent visits we have made to the Showplace to see shows for the kids and for the adults. Always a great experience. National, International, and Local Favorite puppeteers appear each week. Sundays are great as parking is usually easily available.. Greenline T stop is just across the street.

Our 7 y-o daughter looked to be just about the oldest kid in attendance, but she still enjoyed the performance a lot. The 50 minute performance included two short puppet plays, and then a very interesting demonstration by the puppeteer on how he minipulates the puppets. They staff does a really good job of making sure the experience is fun for everyone.

The Puppet Showplace Theatre is a great place to bring the family for lots of fun. For adults, they also have adult shows that they may enjoy a little more than the family shows, but all around, it is awesome! Great Atmosphere, Friendly People! A+++
