Super hike. Just the right amount of distance and challenge for a lovely romp for our family. Definitely recommend. Wildlife not at all shy!!

The Angle Rocks Hike is a great Summer/Autumn hike. It is a fairly moderate hike, with some areas more difficult than others but the views along the way make it worth it.

The trail starts out VERY easy and then suddenly goes almost straight up. The walk is beautiful and some of the path becomes a wooden walkway through marshes (in the spring). It is completely worth it to go to the top though. The views of the surrounding hills are something no one visiting Fairbanks should pass up if they are able to do some strenuous hiking.

We had some time to kill when we stayed at Chena Hot Springs and opted to take on this hike one morning. We do not do a lot of this type of hiking, and we found this trail to be a little challenging. We made it to the rocks without issue and overall enjoyed the hike. The only issue we had was that the trail was not well marked. At one point we came to an intersection that left us unsure of what to do. The trail loops around the Angel rocks, and it wasn't clear that this was the junction of the loop. The trail leading to the right, was a boardwalk which was iced over and unsuitable for use. We 0went to the left, thinking that perhaps the boardwalk was some sort of shortcut, but we later figured out that that was the loop junction. Some sort of sigh would have been nice so we could have been more comfortable with our choice. The 4 mile hike up and back was a good 3 hour workout for us.

This was a really nice trail with everything from rivers, mossy areas, somewhat steep rocky areas. It's not super hard, but if you are very out of shape or looking for a more leisurely, flat trail, then this might be a little challenging.

What a wonderful hike to the top of Angel Rock! The hike was moderate in difficulty, and the views from the top were just stunning. Highly recommend!

We had a great time hiking up to the top of Angel Rocks. The trail was dryer than it had been during the summer. We took plenty of pictures while we were there. Next time I want to try to hike from there all the way to Chena Hot Springs.

Nice scenic views with wild cranberries and colorful mushrooms growing everywhere. Some tricky footing with jagged rocks and tree roots so be prepared with some good hiking boots.

This trail is well maintained and well travelled. On weekdays you can see more wildlife, including possibly bear and moose.Great views from the top!

The Angel Rocks Trail took us city folk about 3-3.5 hours to complete. I am not in shape and took multiple "photo op" breaks. It was a nice hike up and back. We went in June and the mosquitoes were a problem in some areas. The trails were well used by others the day we were out, but not crowded. Some very pretty views and worth doing.

Angel Rocks is close to town, but gives you a real sense of the Alaskan wilderness. The loop trail takes 2 - 4 hours, based on your family's pace/energy level. Beautiful scenery… And, don't forget to hit the rock pool at Chena Hot Springs while you're our there! It will soothe those well-used leg muscles, and ensure your kids will fall asleep fast and hard that night! ;-)

This is the shortest trail in the Chena River Recreation Area, and takes approximately 3 hours to complete. The trail is well marked, which was very important to us because we are not from the area, and there were very few people doing the trail (we only saw 4 other hikers). I have to admit that I am a terrible hiker, and had a rough time in the downhill return, so I would not recommend this for inexperienced hikers, or to city folk like me who lose their footing on anything that isn't concrete. the elevation of the trail is 900 feet. We were worried because the trail had previously been closed due to bear sightings, but the only animals we saw were a woodpecker and squirrel tracks on the snow.
