Jason was an amazing guide!! My husband and I have Never before gone fishing -- and Jason was patient, informative and lots of fun. He seemed to know all of the good spots to catch salmon. I actually caught 2 fish!!!! But even if I never caught anything I would have been completely satisfied -- because the views, the wildlife, and Jason's info about living in Alaska made the trip a day to remember. Jason is also a hunting guide -- and he gave us lots of info about bear, moose hunting!! Very cool.

Just finished a day on the Kenai with Jason. Punctual, knowledgable, great guide, had a ton of fun. Jason obviously loves fishing and was extremely helpful. We couldn't have been more pleased. Thanks again!

First time in Alaska, first full day and went fishing on the Kenai with Jason at the Helm, senior Dad in the boat, brother and 2 young sons ready for adventure and fearless. The six year old couldn't wait to fish and Jason helped make sure he reeled in some great Sockeye. The 9 year old managed to reel in a couple on his own as well all with Eagles soaring overhead. The little guy even picked up some cool Alaska sayings from Jason that he continues to use back in Chicago. Still eating some of the catch. Can't wait to do it again and wouldn't hesitate to reserve Jason's services.

Jason was a great guide and handled our group of five which ranged from 6-75 years old. Was very helpful getting us on the fish and helping the younger boys stay engaged and make sure they were doing things properly. Top of the line gear makes your chances that much better and a more comfortable trip.

I almost gave Jason a four star rating. Many positives to the trip. Jason knows his stuff, put us on some nice sockeye(6 sockeye for the four in our group), great location, and a great flavor for Alaskan living. The negatives. Jason was very moody. His highs were high but his lows were very low. He gave you two chances and then he was done. He explained the art of catching sockeye once, he corrected you once, and then he was done with you. He said no big deal for losing a fly once then on the second lost fly lost he chastised you and was done. The group lost three and I lost none. My very well behaved 9 year old girl wanted to learn to fish for sockeye and he repetitively said he was going to teach her and allow her to fish with a rod. He never did. He should of said that from the start and not accepted the money for her to fish. So if you know how to fish for sockeye and are not fishing with children he would be awesome.

I had such a wonderful experience with Jason as my guide. He is so knowledgeable and helpful. He is so attentive to each of his guests to make sure they are not only having a great time but that they are learning the art of fishing. This was my second year fishing with Jason. I learned so much last year with him as my guide. This year, I learned even more. He helped me stay confident and really learn the art. Who would have thought I could fly fish?! Jason is a wonderful teacher and I am hooked. I can't wait until I can go back and I will definitely have Jason be my guide again. To all of you out there who have never been fishing in Alaska, Jason is your guide. To those of you who have been fishing in Alaska, Jason is your guide. He has an amazing and fun personality and a wonderful way of teaching fly fishing.Terri F

I have known Jason since 2000 and have had several memorable Alaska hunting trips with him. This year I turned 50 and decided it was time to head to to Alaska and fish the Kenai. Jason was my first call and I booked a trip in mid-July which would be during the second run of the sockeye. Day 1 - I wanted to see as much of the river as possible and experience fishing from gravel bars, the boat and going after several species. Jason had a permit to fish in the refuge which meant we had a lot of river to cover. Jason quickly had this non-fly fisherman (and really non-fisherman) working a fly rod in no time. We caught a couple sockeye and several rainbows and dolly's, I lost at least that many as I was learning and all the time surrounded by gorgeous scenery and great conversation with Jason.Day 2 - Time to hit the sockeye hard. Jason took us to his favorite spot on the river and I promptly lost a fish or two. Jason showed me what I was doing wrong and a little later, BAMM!!! Fish on, a great jumper and nice and plump. In short order both of us limited out on nice size sockeye that put up great fights. We then proceeded to drift downriver to Jason's favorite trout spot and over the next few hours we must have caught and released 20+ rainbows and dollys. I only planned to fish those two days and head back to Anchorage on Sunday to bum around town before a night flight home. But, I was having way too much fun fishing this magical river with Jason. He had an opening on Sunday AM (with a great couple from CO who have fished with him before) and I was in.Day 3 - Another perfect weather day, great guide and great company with the couple from CO. A few sockeye lost, but 3 limits filled. Alas, I needed to day goodbye to Jason, the great fishing and the Kenai and head back to Anchorage for a flight home. What started as something I wanted to try, and not really being a fisherman wasn't sure how I'd like it, has turned into a burning desire to get back up to Cooper Landing and fish with Jason again. I will be back in 2015 and for the foreseeable future. So if you are thinking about fishing the Kenai, I can't think of a better guide to go with than Jason!

If you are like us, you have searched the internet for a fishing trip to take when you are in the Kenai area. Stop searching. Contact Jason and be ready for a fantastic time. After driving in Jason's truck to the river, our 13 y.o. pulled us aside and said "even if this guy sucks at fishing this trip is worth it." Well, after catching many fish, we can assure you that Jason knows an awful lot about fishing and our trip was worth every penny and more. Jason has been fishing and guiding in Alaska over 20 years and he conveys his love for this land and his respect for the wilderness. Jason helped this East coast family (who had only ever fished in the Atlantic) to quickly learn the basics of river fishing and to catch more fish than we ever dreamed possible in such a short time. We will recommend him to all our East Coast friends who visit Alaska.

Had a great time fishing with Jason, he is patient and knowledgeable. Two of my kids(12 & 13) and my mom also went and we all caught fish. He kept an eye on us all, and was right there with instructions and the net when a fish was on. I've never fly fished before and it is very different from the fishing I am used to, but Jason was patient and helpful. He let me know what I did wrong and what to correct for next time. We caught a load of Sockeye salmon and were exhausted by the time we were done. A must do for your Alaskan adventure!

Had a great experience fishing with Jason. He has many years of guiding experience and you can tell. He was very helpful, courteous and knowledgable. We fished a full day with Jason and had a great time. I caught my first silver salmon on a fly rod which was the highlight of my day! My friends who were visiting are hunting guides and were very impressed with Jason. I highly recommend this passionate and wonderful guide for your next fishing trip in Alaska.
