We bought the one time pass which was three dollars per person. The sign had two dollars per person so I asked the clerk about the cost difference she said the rate had gone up. It looks like they would have changed the sign before they upped the fee. We also were not given a receipt. The pier itself was nice and we stayed about an hour and saw men catch several fish. Also had three big Pelicans hanging out waiting for a handout.

Unlike the other state park just down the street, it costs nothing to park here. So if you just want to park next to the beach for awhile, maybe phone some friends and soak up the sun, this is your place.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pier is nice and you can possibly see dolphins! My only dislike was the fee. It costs $3 a person, so for my large family, it added up. Also, if you aren't fishing, you pay that just for a quick walk down.

The pier is great! There are placards showing birds, marine life, and fish. Our hope was to see sea-life, but no luck on the day we visited.

Took a some friends out to the pier. They had never been on it and they enjoyed it. I noticed that previous reviews and the stated fare for going out on the pier was $2.00. They must raise the price to $3.00 per person on March 1st. If they are going to do this they had change their Website. We were charged $3.00 per person

Wonderful experience. Went on a State Park a Naturalist walk of the pier. This was an event offered by the State Park where we were camping. Admission was free for this event because we were camping--ordinary cost is $3.00 per visit. It is worth it. The tour was great. Fantastic guide because she repeated questions so everyone was informed. She explained that this used to be the longest pier on the Gulf since 2009--built after Huricane Ivan, but now, another city along the Gulf extended its pier. Nonetheless, it is worth walking the approximately quarter mile trek. Four pelicans were sitting on the rail and when the guide discussed the size of the pelican's pouch, one opened up as if on cue. WOW. Interesting pelicans, interesting people = much pleasure.

If the weather is nice and you fancy taking a walk out onto the fishing pier, it's $2/adult. If you want to fish it's more and of course you'll need a license and gear.

On a warm day gorgeous view of coast. Pelicans and Great Blue Heron photo ops . Fun to see birds up close! Worth $2 fee.

My wife and I paid our $2 and walked out on the pier. First we were greeted by a pelican sitting on the rail. You could get within 3 feet and he did not move. Latter there was a crane also sitting on the railing. He also seemed to enjoy having people stand close to him while both having their picture taken. Their are toilets so you can enjoy the time on the pier. Will do it again and watch the fishermen.

Nice walk out over water. I don't think they should charge $2.00 for a walk out to end, they should make their money on people who fish out there. After you get clear to end you can't go to edge as it only for fishermen

The Pier is not just for fishing. It can be a wonderful place to go and just walk out over the Gulf. Can be meditative or fun depending on the number of people fishing. Almost always will meet someone who wants to talk about something. Even a pelican or heron can be found just lounging. Simple $2 fee to go out on the pier. Worth it.

I'm rating this as average due to the fact we didn't go past the staff the member working the pier. I'm assuming its at least average if you actually get to fish. I brought my dad down for a little fishing. That's really the main thing he had interest in doing while here. We got there about 6pm. The young man in the office barely made eye contact, did not know half of what we were asking, which was simple how does all this work questions. Also, very disrespectful that he couldn't stop looking at his iPhone long enough to give us his full attention for 5 minutes. All he kept saying was " I don't usually work up here" ....well that's a good thing because he will loose business fast! Very disappointed !! Needless to say we never went fishing.

We went here to do a little fishing because we did not want to go on an overpriced, crowded fishing boat. Once we rented our gear and bought lure, we caught fish left and right by dropping our bait into the water. It was a really fun experience!

Nice but expensive if you were going to fish much. $8.00 day but haven't seen any fish this month. $2.00 just to walk out back.
