Possibly the best selection of craft beer in Birmingham, I'm from Colorado so I miss my craft brews and this is the only place I've found that has a good(amazing) selection of craft brews from both the south and from all around the nation, along with growlers!

Imagine the perfect spot to buy beer: How about a place where you could sample something on tap, while you browse the beer aisles, which would be organized by beer type. And wouldn't it be great if someone actually asked you if you needed help finding something without your having to go in search of them. And then what if they really knew a lot about the beer and could advise you on selections that might match what you already know that you like. How about if someone brought you a shopping cart after you had pulled a couple of six packs off the shelf and were running out of room in your arms. Hop City is this place! Oh, and they have a nice selection of wine, too.

Our first visit, and we will be back for more. Lots and lots of beers and wines. The staff was so nice! Our "beerista" was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. It was one of those experiences when you know you are having a good time and it gets even better when your think back on it!

I went here last week to see what a local brewery was offering, not knowing at all what to expect from either Hop City or the brewery. Hop City it turns out is a wine and beer market with an amazing selection of both. What really makes it cool, though, is the 60 beer taps they have on the wall—the place doubles as a bar of sorts.I was on a mission to try as many local and hard-to-find beers as possible, and Hop City makes that quite possible by offering draft beer "samples" of about 3 oz for $1-2 each on average. Generally, "shots" are at least twice that price or are only available as full flights of 4-6 beers. Not here. Very laid-back and accommodating. Bartenders are extremely knowledgeable, too.I absolutely loved this place and would go back without hesitation.
