We had a memorable time at this picturesque little place. Just head straight out of town from Mentone on the road to Fort Payne, and it will be on the left. The pottery is amazing and will survive oven, freezer, etc., it's so strong---they bake it to extreme temperatures to strengthen it. There's no lead in it, either, either in the clay or in the glazes. The owner explained it all, and we fell in love with it. Unfortunately, it's very, very pricey. I would have loved to have the Rebekah Jar that he explained is like the one that Rebekah would have lowered into the well to water the camels for Abraham's servant, but it started at $99. I ended up with a precious little pitcher about 5" high for $24.We're glad we stumbled on this place.

We spent over and hour looking at all the pottery. The gentleman, artist's husband was friendly and patient with us. The artist was actively working the day we visited but maybe you'll be lucky! We bought some unusual coffee mugs at $20. each. If you enjoy mulling over hand thrown pottery you will enjoy this shop. We did not eat at the restaurant that is above the shop, Spencers.

With so many artsy pottery places in the world let alone in this area of the country, this is a great find.We found one-of-kind, very we'll crafted pottery. The owners were on hand to talk about the work in as much detail as you'd like. We felt vey welcome and appreciated. They have a nice restaurant on site too. We weren't ready to eat a full meal, but we did get some Miracle Blueberry Pie. It was scrumptious. The blueberries are fresh picked from the bushes along side the store.

We had a lovely drive up the mountain to the pottery and enjoyed a tasty lunch out on the patio prior to visiting the pottery shop. There was a good choice of pieces, from practical kitchen items to lovely little bird houses. We made our purchases, which were well packed for our flight home, then walked over to visit with the potter who was happy to discuss methods used to make the pieces we had see in the shop. This is an attractive place to visit.

One of the owners, Bill Miracle, waited on me. He explained how his wife created the pottery and about different pieces. While I was there a storm came up knocking out the power, he was very kind and we chatted until the power came back on and long after I checked out. The pottery is amazing and I purchased several pieces! They also own the restaurant about the pottery shop, J. Spencer's. It was a beautiful restaurant, with excellent food.

I'm so glad I stopped by here while in the area. I love pottery and was very happy to purchase a piece of Miracle Pottery. Very pretty pieces and glazes at a reasonable price for the quality of pieces.
