I attended the race in May 2014. it was my first Nascar experience and found it to be very positive. Talladega has a plan to get people in and out of the track quickly and efficiently. And don't try to divert from their plan, or you'll get yelled at or thrown out. We made the mistake of trying to cross over while walking at an unauthorized place and almost regretted it. But in fairness, they were only trying to make sure that everything was orderly, and everyone was safe. Parking was free and plentiful, and we didn't have to walk all that far at all to the track. There was an area of booths and merchandise outside of the track entrance that was fun to explore. Once inside, there was plenty of assistance to find seats or answer questions. It was an extremely positive experience, and I was very impressed by the organization to get people out quickly once the race was over. I was home in Atlanta in about the same time that it took to go about a mile in Daytona. My recommendation for those attending a race in Talladega would be to make sure that you are wearing good walking shoes that are closed toe, no sandals, as most of the walkways are gravel.

If you enjoy Nascar then this is the place to be! I wouldn't consider it very "kid" friendly because of the amount of alcohol consumption, but it is a Nascar race......use your own judgement.

The experience was well worth it. It was a good race but the wrong guy won, regardless it was great fun and the crown is a riot to watch. Directions on where to go are lacking so ask, there are lots of people ready and more than willing to help. Do not got with renting the headsets and better yet the ones you can listen to the drivers talking to their pit crews. Get there early so you can park close as no matter what you do, its a hike. The night before tailgate is worth the walk through too.

Our first trip to this race track. Wonderful location and good race. The exiting of the track was ok but when we got to the main road so we could get back to our hotel was closed. After 62 miles of detour we ended up back at the race track. Poor planing by the security who really did not seem to really care.

'Dega is our track. We love it, we share it w/friends. We prefer the fall race and we stay in Atlanta, using Priceline for our Hotel, it saves tons of $$ with about an hour drive and staying in 4 star places. Always splurdge for the tower seats, so you have best bathrooms, plan your escape route to your car, leave a little early if Jimmie Johnson is leaving, it's not worth seeing him lead but what good racin this is. GO CHEVY, GO RACIN!! Support our Sport. Do everyone a favor, don't bring your young children, don't get crap faced drunk, it ruins it for others.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!! If you EVER get the chance to see a race at the Talladega Super Speedway, DO IT! AND, sit in the Tri-Oval Towers -- A little steep climb to the seats, and a little tricky finding your way to a bathroom from there, but the VIEW is AMAZING!!! Even if you are not a NASCAR fan, you WILL have a GREAT time. Race fans are REALLY fun people and you will feed off of the energy of the cars and the crowd --

For one week, twice a year the area around the speedway turns into different world. It can be a week of relaxation. Or a week long party, if that's what you want it to be. Somewhere in the middle seems to be the best. Adults and kids can enjoy the trip and the cars going 200 mph doesn't hurt anything.

Even if you are not a NASCAR fan (I am not) the facilities at Talladega Superspeedway are very nice and extremely well maintained. The campgrounds are very nice but there are no water and electric hookups so be prepared to bring a generator. They do have companies who will refill your camper water tanks and pump your black water and it isn't super expensive. Be sure to purchase tickets that will get you into the concerts at night because they do have great entertainment. Everyone is respectful in the campgrounds and at 11 pm it is quiet. There are hotels in the area but you need to make reservations early and plenty of fast food restaurants. Don't want to attend a race, there are tours of the facilities. We live nearby but have been to the races - be prepared it is loud!

Very fun experience... You must camp if you go to this track. We go down every year and camp and don't attend the race most of the time. Fun experience!

This was my second time at the speedway and I enjoyed every minute of the Saturday race and the 500. The facilities are top notch and the personnel friendly and helpful. Can't wait until next year.

Great value and very interesting. Tour included museum and racetrack tour! Our driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. Check it out.

The walking was a challenge, but the overall experience was a dream for a NASCAR fan! Awesome fan experience!

We go to the fall race every year in Talladega. It is such a pretty countryside especially this time of year. The weather was great and the racing exciting. We stay in Leeds, Alabama at one of several motels there. The distance to the race track is roughly 25 miles. There are lots of places to eat and shop. Leeds is a great place to stay no matter what your plans are.

I have been to few Nascar Races, Phoenix, twice Atlanta and this October to Talladega. The track is longer than Atlanta, which allows car to run up to 200 mph (320 Km/h). It make the race much more unpredictable than the 3 previous I saw in Phoenix and Atlanta. It's the first time I stayed the full race, watching it and wondering up to the last lap who will win. Brad Keselowski did an incredible race that day. What I enjoyed was also a much faster access to the parking, we had very little traffic jam to arrive (we arrived early at 8 am) and almost no traffic to leave (just after the race). The ticket prices are also significantly cheaper than Atlanta and Pheonix. You can get seats as from $55. I do nevertheless recommend to go to TOWER. The upper seats allow to see the full track and especially the accident which are usually the curve before the finish line. In conclusion, longer track, but less public, more accessible, nice for a first Nascar Experience if you want to
