Our group played here after playing several courses in Birmingham. The courses were hard to play because of the wind. We were delayed twice by lightning. Many of the trees were destroyed by a tornado several years ago. I would play other RTJ courses before these.

easy access, very friendly staff in clubhouse, uncrowded and very enjoyable to play, just enough tweaking to make it tough if you want it that way or much easier for those who do not want to test their golf skills... played 18 in 2 3/4 hours... hard to beat that

The appropriately named Heart, Mind and Backbreaker nines are definately challenging but very good golf at a great price. Tip: after 3pm prices are about 1/2 off. Course was in great shape too, as are all of the RTJ Trail courses. I would probably play better after a few rounds to get more local info.

Sadly a storm took away a lot of trees in one area of the course a few years ago but this a good course made of 3 good 9's. Tees are set up to suit all levels though the front Ladies tees can make some of the holes rather easy (I lost!). There is also a very challenging par 3 course which is a must if you have time.

This is by far one of the nicest courses I have ever played. Everything is immaculate! Staff is friendly and helpful. It is challenging to say the least! Depending on what tee you play from it can be long. Greens are firm and fast but consistent. Not a lot of trees anymore after the tornadoes of April 27th, but they have rebuilt the course nicely (especially since it was leveled)

Day one of our three day trip through the Robert Trent Jones trail. Amazed that the course was even open, let alone in great condition, following the 2011 tornados that hit the course. Remnants of the storm can still be seen on the perimeter of the course showing the devastation they have recovered from. Can't say that there was one "signature hole", but a very nice course in general. Played all 36 holes, including the short course which winds around the lake.

Very disappointed in this course. I realize they are rebuilding after the tornado damage, but they have made some poor design decisions during the rebuild. Changing to bermida greens was not a good decision. The greens are all elevated and will not hold a ball. I have no issue with bermuda greens when the course is properly designed to have them. These elevated greens will not hold my shot and I am a low handicap golfer. The hospitality was good. The club house is nice. I would not recommend paying $65.00 plus cart for this course.
