Our family enjoyed the museum and model train exhibit so much! The volunteers are friendly and willing to answer questions. And, you can't beat the price - FREE!! (we dropped a few dollars in the donation jar).

We took my 3 year old daughter and she loved it. The model was excellently done and the staff very friendly. We were shocked that it was free also.

there are a bunch of senior Train enthusiastic gentlemen who have put together and run a fantastic miniature Railroad . it's a delightful exhibition of trains running through tunnels and around towns, a great display put on by these gentlemen who give up their time to entertain us the public.

very nice railroad museum and price is right. Donations are used to keep things going. The Lionel gauge railroad is exceptional and all volunteer. Very interesting and lots of knowable gentleman there to answer all you questions. The park area is kept up very nicely.

No admission fee but they have a donation jar. There are lots of model trains running around. This is a good pace to go if the weather is bad.

Who doesn't like humongous train layouts complete with a small town? Kids love it as do dads and granddads. Little girls and moms who like to see big smiles will like it too. Check out open times since it is run by volunteer model train enthusiasts.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Foley Railroad Museum. The scale model set up is amazing. There is so much to see there. I also enjoyed the real train cars. Going through a caboose was fun. I would recommend this place to people visiting the area.

The city of Foley has provided a home for a huge donated O Gauge Train display and it lovingly cared for by train volunteers. They not only keep the train display in pristine condition but they give a very interesting talk about the individual pieces that resemble by gone days. Be aware the museum is Open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Interesting for all ages.

While visiting family in the area we drove up here to see what the museum had to offer. We were not disappointed! The museum is in the former train depot in historic downtown Foley. Plenty of free parking nearby.First, note that the model train display isn't open daily. It's open Tues, Thurs and Saturday, from 10-2.There are two parts to the museum: the historic depot with library, gift shop, and antiques display. Then walk out the back and around the corner to the new building, purpose-built to contain the 0-gauge model train display. Wheelchair and stroller accessible. The model train room is where it's at! Staffed by volunteer train enthusiasts, they regularly provide talks about the set-up, interesting landmarks and working features (look for the moonshine still, the man in the tree, the fireworks factory fire, drive-in, and car wash). There is a great viewing platform and plenty of seats. There's also a library/media room where you can view videos and look at some interesting train books. The kids are welcomed by the volunteers and asked to sound the train whistles on the models. They love it!Outside the museum you can view up close a Nashville & Louisville locomotive, Frisco freight car, and a caboose. This is a great place to spend some time when you're in the area. It is free but of course donations are much appreciated.

My husband and I took our son to check out the downtown area of Foley Train Museum and Welcome Center one afternoon and I was surprised at how much the kids and my son were wowed by what this place had to offer. There is, of course, the caboose and locomotive train cart setup on display for all to check out and see what it's like on the inside. There is a small train that is setup at the front of the entrance for families to climb aboard for a train ride around the park plus it's free. The museum has some interesting history to check out then in the 2nd building, there is a huge indoor train track set providing a replica of the town of Foley. Volunteers keep this going and I was quite surprised at the details these guys created. Very detailed and entertaining for the kids, even 3 year olds.

Don't miss this amazing model train village set up ... over 1/3 mile of track, dozens of working models going at the same time. Old or young, you'll love it. And it's free. Tue. Thur. and Sat. 10-2.

The most outstanding part of this museum is the model train layout. It is the nicest one that we have seen. Great eye for detail and run by volunteers who share their enthusiasm for trains. Definitely worth stopping to see.

My wife and I both like trains and have toured quite few museums around the country, but have not seen a model railroad layout even close to this one. We were amazed at the number of working miniature buildings and then they turn down the lights for night version. Even if you don't like trains this is a must and it is all made possible with volunteers.

This was excellent. My husband loves trains and this was the best museum we have ever stopped at. There is a working model train room that is unbelievable with its attention to detail. Volunteers were fantastic pointing out the highlights of the train and setups and knowing the history. I can't say enough good things about this.
