brierfield ironworks historical state park

Have our annual Cash Family Reunion here, great place, always clean and nice. Easy to get to, people are so nice to work with.

We stayed almost two weeks from 6/27 to 7/7. The campground has a pool, walking trail and road to ride bikes. My kids loved it.We all made so many friends. It is a most friendly place. We came to know all the staff on a first name basis. We look forward to going back again and again!We also stayed over Memorial day weekend. We sty in a pop up camper and the bath house is very accessible. My kids enjoyed all the amenities. They all enjoyed the creek very much.

This little Park has been there for several years. I grew up in Bibb County and don't remember it being as nice as it is now. Very interesting history on the mining and iron production in that area.

Really great place to RV camp. Good hiking and woodsy ambience. RV camp sites are large enough. Other campers were very friendly and we all shared something from our meals.

Park entrance is $2, so cost is very reasonable. There are lots of camping spaces and some cabins for rent, but i was really just riding through. The old ironworks ruins are covered by a metal canopy and they are interesting to look at. There are a few informational plaques on the history of the ironworks. Also, the Overland Bridge was moved from Montevallo and reassembled at the park. I wish there was more to see and do here but worth a quick stop if you are in the area.
