It is a look into more simple days of the past. Simple tools. More simple toys. I think it caters more to children of the 50's and 60's. They have a little of a lot of things. Kitchen items, camping, cooking fireside, clothing, and even small repair items. Thought were little pricy. Opens into restaurant next door. Think they had a Cracker Barrel type idea except more true hardware inventory.

This was a very interesting old hardware store before being bought out and "modernized". In the recent past, you could find most any part you needed there, even if the staff had to go down into the basement to find it and blow years of dust away from it. Now, it is still an interesting place to browse, and where you can purchase items that are not easy to find in other stores. They have an upscale (meaning expensive) line of clothing upstairs, downstairs is full of a variety of items such as knives, cast iron cookware, toys, wind chimes, and the list goes on and on! The most fun is to watch the toy train in the window. Even if you aren't there to purchase anything, the old building with its creaking wood floors and the old cash register is interesting to see. From the store, you can enter the great restaurant next door.

Unlike any other store I had been in with a hodge-podge of helpful, useful and fanciful items, some I had not seen since the 1960's. Truly eclectic with hardware, cookware, metal detectors, canned food, clothing, BBQ grilles, toys, camping goods and more. High quality, you won't find this stuff at W Mart. On the historic square in Athens and attached to LuVici's Restaurant.

This store has a little bit of everything. I felt like I was revisiting my childhood when I stepped into this place. It reminded me of our old neighborhood hardware store. I even found my set of dishes there and was able to replace a few pieces that had broken. If you are visiting Athens, this place is a must-see!

Step back to a quiter time and place where you can put your hand in old bins to find the right nail for your project. Find nastalgia old fashioned tin toys and the red ryder BB GUN. Great adventure!

A real, operating old-time hardware store, like Lewter's in Huntsville. They have local tourist brochures and gifts in the front (like jars of green tomato relish). In the back are iron skillets, Radio Flyer wagons, etc. They have been here nearly a century. Also located inside the historic U.G. White building is LuVici's restaurant, if you're in the mood for a true southern dining experience. See www.luvicis.com On the northwest corner of the courthouse square.
