this place is so full of love, music, quaint, there is a gentleman that takes ladies out to the dance floor and teaches them how to dance the music they are playing. It's such a unique experience.

Visited here on a recent trip with my husband. He hates seafood but I insisted we visit here as I LOVE seafood. Had the blackened tilapia with a crawfish cream sauce, twice baked potato, and steamed veggies with butter and cajun seasonings. Excellent and I cleared the whole plate by myself. Portion size was good. Cost was roughly $20 and worth every penny in my opinion. Food was hot and delicious and service was decent, not outstanding. However, we didn't receive outstanding service anywhere in NOLA so it is what it is I suppose. Will definitely have this again if I return to NOLA.

Went here on a local recommendation and was not disappointed! Amazing Gumbo, Crawfish, and beans and rice. Only complaint is the price. Most meals are $20-30.00 (yes, for rice and beans) and soda was $3.50! Yes I said $3.50. Still, worth the price...the food was amazing.

Mulate's was a tourist trap with good bands but poor food. It has now been replaced by Pont Breaux's and it is much better now. If you liked Multates you bill love the new location. Much better management!

We have been here quite a few times and it is hit and miss...

I was here with a Road Scholar group during Mardi Gras. Another tour bus arrived just before we did, so I got the impression that this is a routine outing for tour groups. It was crowded & noisy but the food was good. I had the specialty, Catfish Etoufee, which was tasty. If you are looking for a quiet relaxed dinner, go somewhere else. If you want to hear Cajun music & perhaps dance on the small dance floor, Mulate's is OK.

The only terrible meal we had in New Orleans was at Mulates. The food was cold, the jambalaya was cold, hard and had crispy things in it. The catfish was so fishy tastying I could only eat one bite of it. The sauce on top of the fish was hardened on the edges of the plate. The food tastted and looked like it was plated and then sat under lights for quite a while. We ordered and our food came out in under 5 minutes.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are too many good places to eat in New Orleans other then here.
