We took the small boat tour on a warm early Spring afternoon. Our young teen boys loved it! Our guide Sam was friendly and knowledgeable and gladly answered any and all questions. We saw plenty of alligators, a nutria or two, a bald eagle, and plenty of other birds. Let's say this isn't a nature-purist's tour--your guides will do what they can to show you gators up close, including feeding them marshmallows or poking them with a stick to prompt some action. I didn't mind. Sam even brought out a young alligator which he cares for so that we could touch and hold it.Bring your sunscreen and a windbreaker in Spring.

This is a must-do when visiting NOLA. We were on a small boat with Allen - he was great. He caught a giant catfish and let us pet a baby alligator. The swamp is actually stunningly beautiful. Take off any dangling earrings and wear sunglasses - the wind whips right through you. We saw plenty of gators. It's well worth the money. The tour is well organized. The staff is really friendly and they pick you up in a real nice bus.

Our Airboat Adventures tour was awesome. Our tour guide, Jay, was great, he was very informative and entertaining which made the trip so enjoyable. We recommend the small boat as it is a smaller group of people and you have a greater opportunity to ask questions. Our tour was on February 8th, 2015 and the weather was unseasonably warm which gave us to opportunity to see a few alligators in their natural habitat. Holding the baby alligator was unexpected. Would highly recommend this tour!

We had an exciting adventure in the bayou thanks to Captain Bobby and his Airboat Adventure team. He knew all the great spots to see in the bayou and had great stories and facts about the habitat and wildlife. We saw so many alligators, large and small. His southern hospitality and charm made the trip complete. We highly recommend this tour to anyone, local or visting, to check this out.

We really enjoyed the airboat tour of the swamp. We saw lots of gators and my daughter got to hold a young alligator. Our guide was informative and funny. It was a beautiful day and beautiful scenery.

We were in NOLA for a long weekend with two other couples and booked a tour on Airboat Adventures after researching various tours on TA. We were very lucky as we booked our tour on the warmest day out of the four we were in NOLA. As gators hibernate, you are unlikely to see many or any during the cooler winter months or on colder days. We toured on March 2 and the sun was shining and WOW, did we have a great 2 hours with Steve, our guide. Absolutely one of the best tours I have ever done. I could have spent a few more hours touring the swamps in the airboat, but nonetheless it was an absolutely excellent tour. We probably saw 25-30 gators in the water and on the shore sunning themselves, plus a variety of other interesting animals, birds, and areas. Great tour, thanks for a great day Steve.

This tour is SO worth the short drive from New Orleans. Our tour guide Little Lou - a native of the area- was fabulous. His extensive knowledge of the Bayou from alligators to vegetation to history of the cultivation of the land made for a rich memorable experience. We saw a number of alligators and learned a lot about the unique challenges the Louisiana alligator faces. Oh yeah, the airboat ride was AWESOME too! A MUST DO experience.

never been on an airboat so we took a ride out.We were staying in the french quarters, and they will actually come and pick you up for a fee if you dont have a car. When you get there, they have a great gift shop along with some aligators that they rescued to keep you occupied until your boat leaves. We had a nice warm day which brought lots of aligators to look at and i got lots of video! Even saw some vulchers and a huge blue and white bird, forgot what you call them! It was so much fun and the tour guide was so funny he had me laughing a lot. While you are on the tour,if you spot something they tell you to just point and he will try to zoom up as close as he can get to what you want to see so you can get good pictures! My fiance and i really enjoyed ourselves so much and agreed that was our favorite part of the trip!! A must do!

Like others have said, wait until it is a really warm day! We froze our butts off!! Because we were so cold, we could not enjoy the tour. We did see 2 gators peak their head out of the water, but that was it for "wild" gators. I agree with others as well who stated the tour guides should have warned us that gators do not come out in cold weather. As a midwesterner, I know nothing about "gator season". The tour guide did bring a baby gator on board and let everyone take pictures with him! I am sure it will be a great activity when it is warm!

My friends and I went on our Airboat ADVENTURE the weekend after Mari Gras. Not much sun was peeking through the clouds during our tour, but it was still nice enough to enjoy the ride. Unfortunately, we did not see any alligators. The only wildlife we got to see were a few different types of birds. But overall it was a great experiences. The scenery was so beautiful and peaceful. I honestly expected a quick tour, but it lasted roughly 2 hours. We took the small group tour and I definitely think it was a better choice than the large group. Our tour guide was GREAT! He was extremely informative, and genuine. He knew damn near everything there was to know about everything that was surrounding us. He was personally my favorite part of the tour ;) I suggest going during the afternoon hours and when it's a warm and sunny day. When visiting Louisiana, Airboat Adventures is a MUST-GO! That was my first time there, but definitely not the last.

Went during Mardi Gras and it was FREEZING cold. The company really should let you know Prior to booking that in the winter the Alligators won't surface. We saw 1 turtle and a couple birds and that was it. That being said our guide was really informative and the landscape was a must-see. I'd recommend waiting for warm weather to do this though, the air was so cold when the boat got going I could barely open my eyes haha.

The day after a particularly cold Mardi Gras is probably not the best time for an airboat tour, but what the heck. We had fun anyway. Our guide Jay was a lot of fun, and he even spotted two young gators for us. We didn't expect to see any because of the cold, but two of them were sunning themselves on the bank and he spotted them just as they slipped into the water.Even with the cold it was a pretty ride, and Jay taught us a lot about gators and the other local wildlife. Our driver to and from the tour was named Big Joe, because of course he was. He was worth the price of admission by himself.

We went the weekend after Mardi Gras and it was fantastic. It was a little cold but when dressed for the right conditions it was fine. They picked us up right at our hotel. The tour guide was great. A local. He was great with telling us about the area.Since it was cold we didn't get to see any big alligators but we did see a few smaller ones. He even brought a small alligator with him for us all to hold.Great way to spend half a day.
