First off, I don't ski. I hate snow and having to wear all those layers. But, I think ski lifts are great fun. In the summer you get free lift rides if you book through Snowshoe. How can you beat that? The lift line is quick, they have never told me I couldn't take my little backpack cooler, and sometimes you see deer, or mountian bikers. I think boyfriend and I spent about six hours just riding the lift around on our last trip up to Snowshoe. Grab a drink and hop on the lift for a relaxing trip up and down the mountain that doesn't involve strapping bed slats to your feet and hurtling yourself down a cold, snowy trail. Once you get down the mountain, stop off at the lake and play a game of horseshoes, watch someone fall off the slacklines, grab a drink and snack at The Boathouse, and then ride back up to the Village so you can start the whole process over again. It never gets old!If you are going to enjoy some adult beverages while enjoying all that Snowshoe in the summer has to offer, please use a little common sense and don't ruin it for the rest of us. Don't throw bottles and cans off the lift. Don't get drunk and fall out of the lift. Don't puke off the lift. Seriously, use your head. PS... If you are wearing flip flops either hold them or put them in your bag. Don't ask me why I know this.

The lift was a new experience for me and was why I never tried skiing. I was terrified of the lift. But this year I am learning to ski. Riding the lift in the summer was a great experience and totally calmed my fears. Cannot wait to return with the whole family and hoping to learn how to ski \.

This ride is so wonderful - beautiful view and peaceful. This is one of the main reasons we stay at Snowshoe, so that we can ride the chairlift! It is fun to get off at the bottom and spend time at Shaver's lake, either to get a drink on the deck at the Boathouse or run a paddleboat around the lake. Very relaxing. There is no fee for the lift or the paddleboats if you are lodging at Snowshoe.

We come skiing here every winter. It is only about an hour from our house. Yet, this is the first time I had ever ridden the lift in the summer months. It was a neat experience. The lift can be a little unnerving for smaller kids, or those who have a fear of heights.Once at the bottom, we had great fun. They have canoes, paddle boats, kayaks and a small inflatable obstacle course for kids. The beach area is roped off for swimming. The water is a bit colder than what many could be used to.

Being summer not a lot going on at the resort; however the lift down to the Lake and using the paddle boats was a highlight of our stay.

The ride down is scenic, but a little scary for little kids. Lots of fun things to do for the family. My boys liked the playground equipment and inflatable obstacle course in the lake. The canoes, paddle boats, and kayaks were fun. The beach sand was actually pretty nice for a lake. My only suggestion would be for the lifeguards to monitor the swimmers more closely. An irate and irrational father stood on the docks yelling at boys whom he perceived were picking on his child while staff members ignored him. When he singled out our son, my diplomatic husband patiently talked him down.

Love this and loved the Boat house restaurant at the bottom of the ride on the lake, they serve drinks and affordable food, go there.

We went there in summer. The scenery is beautiful. There are many lift rides across the mountain. This one had the best scenery. From top you can reach the lake and from there you can take paddle boats/kayak and explore the lake. There is also a small boat house restaurant near the lake. This was definitely the best event for us in the snowshoe mountain.

This lake was out of a movie. So peaceful and wake free. Only kayaks and canoes and paddle boats allowed so it is a great one for a quiet ride or with small kids. The small beach area is nice too and the hammocks in the woods were really a nice treat. The only reason I did not give it an excellent rating was because of the restaurant. Service was terrible - just terrible.

Great views down to the lake and once there you can rent paddleboats, kayaks, fishing pole and bait, play horeshoes, badminton, shuffleboard or hang at the beach (yes, there is small beach there!)

This was one of the best events for us. This was a perfect ride and reasonable too! There was enough room for 4 people, the view was amazing, and the employees were wonderful.
