Adventures on the Gorge was the Perfect place for our wedding. My husband and I both knew the day we visited the venue for a tour that it was where we wanted to get married. Our Event Coordinator, Jessica, was was a joy to work with and helped to make the big day, and the days leading up to it, stress free. All of our guests complimented on the breathtaking beauty of the setting and many of them sincerely said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. The food which was served buffet style, was Fantastic and also recieved countless praise from our guests! Thanks to Jessica who hand delivered us plates, my husband and I both were able to eat a full meal despite the excitement and many congratulations. AOTG also provided us with a list of recommended florists and bakeries that we chose from and were very happy with. After the wedding, my husband and I stayed in one of the nearby cabins for the night before taking off on our honeymoon the next day, flying out of the Charleston WV airport. All in all we can't wait to go back and revisit the magic of our special day!

Three friends and I spent a weekend at Adventures on the Gorge for a bachelor party. We booked a trip down the Lower New River in the smaller raft and Kevin was our guide. I've been down the river a few times and this trip was by far the best. Kevin was and incredible guide and we had an incredible time.We stayed in a 4 bedroom deluxe cabin, which was clean and very nicely furnished.It was cool to be able to walk to the restaurants at the resort and not have to worry about having a designated driver.The resort is great and the staff was incredible. This place understands what customer service should be and then improves upon the standard.I will definitely return with my family at some point.

Thanks for your feedback about Adventures on the Gorge! Kids always love the lofts. Not sure if it is just a secret hideaway game or what, but they are always a hit. Our deluxe cabins are definitely great for families. Multiple bedrooms. Full kitchen. The hot tub doesn't hurt either. Winterplace is one of our partners since skiing isn't offered on-site at AOTG. I'm happy to hear you had a great experience at both establishments. If you haven't visited us in the summer, be sure to do so. We offer everything from rafting to ziplines, rock climbing to lake tours, and everything in between. Plus, the kids will love our state-of-the-art swimming pool. Thanks again for your feedback. We also aim to have very clean cabins. Our housekeeping staff works long hours to ensure this so I'm happy for the positive report. Bridge Day is an event like no other. I'm glad you were able to experience it. Taste of Bridge Day is a favorite. There are so many great restaurants here on-site as well as in the neighboring towns making this the perfect opportunity to sample everything. Plus, it benefits the local rotary clubs so win-win. If you make it for Bridge Day next year, be sure to travel into Fayetteville afterwards for the annual chili cook-off or swing back by Rendezvous Lodge for live music. Thanks again for your feedback. The Lower Gauley is considered intermediate so there's still room to grow plus Gravity offers all the speed and heights teenagers surely enjoy. Despite being such a new idea, they have taken off in popularity. These duplexes are perfect for guests who want all the amenities, but without the extra space a full size cabin offers.There is no better way to fully immerse yourself in the West Virginia outdoors than on an overnight rafting trip, particularly a Gauley Overnight. The whitewater is fantastic. The campsite is secluded. The food is delicious. In my opinion, it's the perfect way to spend a cool, fall evening sharing stories with your guides and fellow guests. Smokey's, Chetty's, and Buffler's are fabulous and naturally we want you to spend time there as well as our retail stores, but the New River Gorge region has so much to offer it's a shame not to experience it all. Thanks for your feedback about Adventures on the Gorge! Aren't the deluxe cabins great? I could easily make one my permanent home (if that were an option). Hot tub. Full kitchen. Heated bathroom floors. Love it! It is true we have a range of lodging perfect for every budget, but the deluxe cabins have always been a perennial favorite.If you loved ziplining and rafting, be sure to check out our many other adventures. Rock climbing is extremely popular in the New River Gorge as well as mountain biking. The pool you saw is Canyon Falls Swimming Hole, open May - mid September. Thanks for your feedback about Adventures on the Gorge! Whitewater rafting can be intimidating if you have never experienced it before. The Gauley River will inaugurate you quickly, though! Lexi is fantastic. She's bubbly, talented, and completely uninhibited. You were certainly in good hands. Christian is an excellent guide as well despite only having several years under her belt. The Upper Gauley is some of the most challenging whitewater in the world and it is not taken lightly (even by seasoned guides). Though there is always a chance someone could fall out of a raft, our guides take every precaution. However, it is extremely uncommon for a life jacket to come off entirely. Our guides have been trained to check and doublecheck that everything is secure. It's something we take very seriously and I apologize if you were given a fright. Hopefully this will not turn you off to rafting as a whole because, thought there is risk, it is a very rewarding and exhilarating hobby. Our aerial adventures are top notch!
