The interior has been restored to its original look, and it is stunning. A must-see if you're in Helena. Take the guided tour.

This is a very nice State Capitol building. Very Montana. I'm a nerd for these types of buildings, I enjoy the history. Different than other Cap buildings I've visited, which fits MT perfectly. I'd love to go back and spend more time.

White Buffalo, ever the history buff, wanted to see the seat of Montana Goverment. Beautiful buildings and grounds.

It's worth stopping by to see the capital, if you have the time go inside, beautiful! The pretty flower bed-art provides a neat perspective for taking photos. If you're also taking a hike up Mt. Helena, it's pretty easy to spot the Capitol to help build your mind map of the city. The downtown Helena train tour starts at the Capitol too!

The artwork in this building is so amazing. Did not see a mural or painting I did not like and the glass windows are awe inspiring

we were greeted by a great tour guide who enjoyed answering our questions - Very friendly. He gave us some interesting facts that if he was not explaining as we toured we would of never known. Took about an hour for the tour.

I haven't ever been unhappy with my visit to the state capital building. I enjoy older buildings & this one has many objects and art work that are worth the visit.

A stroll through our capitol building is an afternoon well-spent. State leaders welcome drop-ins and the halls are currently bustling with legislators and lobbyists. One is filled with the awe of the history and ideas that helped to shape the building and what Montana stands for. Highly recommended!

If you live, work and play in Montana this is a stop you need to make. There is wonderful history through out; past, present and future.

We decided to visit state capitols as a theme for traveling the USA. The Montana State Capitol in Helena is a beautiful building set high above the city with views. Well kept landscaping and easy to drive around and stop as we wished. Do not miss the Montana Historical Museum.

Liked the architecture, got a chance to see old court rooms. Has a beautiful garden in front of the building. Parking available near the building.

We did not go inside the building. I believe we were their after normal working hours. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. There is a lovely view of the entire valley from the front steps.

We started our Capitol tour by grabbing some sandwiches and having a picnic on the Capitol lawn. Helena is a very casual, unique, old mining town and we felt completely at home spreading out a blanket and eating on the lawn in front of the Capitol building. Once inside the Capitol building, you see the character of Montana with such vibrant colors and murals paying homage to Lewis & Clark and the settlers who conquered the West. The folks in the Governor’s office were very friendly and gave us our own tour of the Governor’s Office. We joined up with a tour as they were about to enter the House of Representatives. The tour guide explained several of the paintings depicting Lewis & Clark. It was a great education for all of us.

If you come to Helena, you must visit the capitol and take a tour of down town Helena. The capitol flowers make for an ideal picture memory. Then have a picnic with the family

This capitol truly is one of the more impressive I've seen in the Western portion of the United States. It's distinctive from the capitols that adhere more closely to the US Capitol's aesthetics and has some very interesting features, starting with the floral arrangement of the state on the front lawn. The main staircase with its curved stained glass ceiling is another impressive sight, as are the curved window overlooking the front lawn, and the giant Charles Russell painting in the House chamber. Tours are free and worthwhile, and our guide shared a few discrepancies in some of the beautiful paintings in the building. It's definitely worth a stop!
