A group of four of us planned a mini vacation to this distillery for their St Patrick's day weekend tour. It's a tour, dinner and drinks. The distillery tour was ok. The grounds, architecture and surrounding area were very beautiful and incredibly cool to look at, since this is a historic site. I loved taking pictures and it was very neat to see so much history. However, the tour guide was just so so. She was not bad, just uneventful. Now after the tour there was a corn beef and cabbage dinner, and that was fantastic!!! It was all you could eat buffet, and flavor was just delicious. You also got 2 Woodford drinks, which we were also great! Though the tour was just ok, the beauty of the area, and the deliciousness of the food, made up for it. I'd go again.

While this is a very nice property and facility it feels like visiting a huge corporate gift shop with no real character just one that was devised in a fancy donut whiteboard session in some Madison Avenue conference room. I had put this stop on my list of possible favorites for our bourbon trail outing and was surprised that my whole group felt the same way almost immediately. I still grabbed a souvenir before we all made a quick exit. If you are short on time this may be a stop to pass over

We were in the area and decided to stop by again because our first visit was most enjoyable. We were at Woodford Reserve Distillery last March and the gift shop/welcome center was being remodeled and/or under construction. It was well worth the stop, the remodel/construction job turned out fabulous. Excellent job Woodford Reserve. We did the tour last year and it was awesome, however, we didn't do it this year due to we had our two small children with us. We did purchase some items from the gift shop and couldn't be happier with the quality and pricing of the merchandise. We did have a bottle engraved with my company business on it and it turned out as good as the one we had done last year. Definitely recommend you to stop by if you are in the area.

We visited here as our first stop on the bourbon trail. The visitors center is new and very nicely furnished. I enjoyed sitting by the fireplace while we waited for the tour to start. Our tour guide was great she explained the workings of the distillery in a funny and friendly way. You could feel she really enjoyed her job and her bourbon! I liked seeing the sour mash fermenting. The CO2 rising from the tubs was an interesting site. (See my photo) The scent inside the barrel hose was amazing! It was interesting to see barrels in there that were stored for over 20 years. It was also interesting to hear how you could purchase a whole barrel for $9000 and have it bottled as your own label. Of the 4 distillery visits we made, I liked this one the best for the historical buildings and nice location.

The tour was great. We took it a while back. Its exciting and informative plus the bourbon balls are great!! My only thought...its the only distillery which charges $5.00 for their tour of all the distilleries visited in the area.

Very beautiful drive up to the distillery. A lot of horses and barns to see. Buildings on the tour very old and nice to see. Tour was very good. Just make sure your headset works before you start the tour or you won't hear what the guide is saying. Beautiful gift shop and tasting room. Wish I could have fit the finished barrel on the plane to take home with me.

Taste the bourbon, and learn the story of it's making. This historic brewery of bourbon houses a museum and tasting room. The drive there is one of the finest in the state, so take it all in. Along the way, you will pass fenced pastures and magnificent thoroughbreds.

Like stepping back in time. Excellent facility, knowledgeable tour guides, authentic buildings and the beautiful Bluegrass Kentucky setting. A must do activity. The Bourbon wasn't bad either!! Nice guided tasting opportunity.

Another stop on the Bourbon Trail. This one was notable for pairing their bourbon with various bourbon Chocolate... a very nice touch after many, many distillery tours and tastings.

Visiting this site during there slow time of the year was a huge plus. From the drive to the distillery to the tour, all was beautiful, interesting & fun. The tasting at the end helped enhance my enjoyment of bourbon.

Tour was good, but definitely a different atmosphere than some of the other distilleries we visited. They have two products to chose from (soon to be three.), not really to my liking. On the Bourbon Trail.

Located in beautiful horse country which makes for a beautiful drive to Woodford. New visitor center was very welcoming. Great history tour of the grounds and buildings. Great learning experience with our tour guide. Go in the off season when the crowds are less than busy months. Glad I went.

The distillery was unexpectedly busy between Christmas and New Years, so they were adding extra tours. We didn't really need a full tour since we'd just come from Buffalo Trace, so we were able to get a tasting in a little house for $7 (regular tour is $10). I don't think they offer this unless it is really busy.

First time at the WRBD. $10 per person for a tour. The guide was certainly knowledgable (but his jokes were pretty corny) and answered everyone's questions. My favorite part of the tour was the tasting which took place in their tasting room in the main lodge. The tasting room is very nice - decorations, the fireplace, etc. It was all set up when we walked in - two bourbons, a bourbon ball chocolate, and some ice for those who needed/wanted it. I thought the tasting was more impressive and organized than others I have been to. I would highly recommend making the trip here.
