Great tour of Newport "back in the day" when gangsters owned the gambling joints and the gin joints. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and entertaining. He explained how the company came to be and how everything that is related in the tour has been researched and is fact. Before going on the 90 minute walking tour of Newport, a power point presentation/history is given of names you'll hear during the tour. Our guide gave us several rules we had to follow. We had quite a large group so he always made sure everyone had caught up before he would continue talking. The meeting place for the tour was at a piano bar. Our guide was very diplomatic when he had to deal with 2 couples that either had too much to drink before the tour or were just naturally annoying/obnoxious.I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn the history, and a surprise ending, of Newport during the "day". (Lot of good places to eat after the tour too.)

A very interesting (and entertaining) tour of Newport with the emphasis on it's gangster days. It is a walking tour that fills in a lot of details of just how much was going on 'back in the day'. We were surprised at how much we learned.

The Newport Gangster Tour was a great visit to the past! We enjoyed walking and seeing places that were once part of Newport's colorful history! We had no idea that before Vegas, Newport was the gambling mecca and the place to be! I highly recommend this tour. We did the 5:00 tour and then stopped and had a burger at Mad Mike's across the parking lot. Great way to spend a couple hours!!!

My husband and I did the gangster tour in the fall 2012 and we really enjoyed it. It was the last tour available for the year and it was a little chilly that time of the year so it would be better to go during warmer months. The guides were great, they were lively and made sure everyone could hear. We had a large group with some older people who walked a little slow, so they waited until everyone had caught up. They were very knowledgeable. My husband and I love Boardwalk Empire so we were very interested in the mob history and recognized some of the names from the show. This is a fun tour and something different to do together. We would take the tour again.

This was such a fun adventure...full of laughs and quirky history of an era that ended in my parent's generation. Planning on the Underground Cinti Tour this summer...heard it is also great!

Although our group was a little too large the two tour guides did a great job telling stories and playing off each other to make the tour informative and fun.

This tour was one of our favorite parts of our vacation. The whole tour from the indoor presentation to the walking part was outstanding! There was so much interesting information given that we looked up information online when we got home so we wouldn't forget the names, etc. History came alive for my boys and I and everyone had a great time. The gangster guides really get into their roles and we enjoyed the interaction. I had children with me and they were interested and energetic the whole time. It was a rather warm day, but there were opportunities to get a drink along the way if needed. If the other tours that this company conducts are as great as the gangster tour (and it sounds like they are) then I would recommend all of the tours. We would love to go back and take the tour again!!

I remember much of what they were talking about but didn't realize it could all be made so interesting. Everyone should take this tour!

I loved this tour! We met at the "Dueling Piano Gangster Bar" next to the Syndicate. During the introduction, we were shown a power point presentation while enjoying a cold beverage in the bar. This really helped set the stage on how things looked in the past. Our guides were hilarious, cracking jokes and falling into the charactors of "Gangsters". Once the presentation was complete, we began the walking portion of the tour. We went to several of Newport's old hotspots, and a few still in exsistance. The Gangsters told us antedotes about each location and their place in history. It was a warm day, so half way through the tour, we were met by other Gangsters who were handing out water. This tour really made Newport come alive for me. Everyone on the tour really seemed to enjoy themselves. The story about the four hidden safes was awsome. We're definately going to find the time to take the underground tour and the halloween tour.
