While our tour guide Hal, was great... he talked a bit much about extra stuff. We did not get to see the movie they offed. which was OK because there were only 2 benches and our group was 38 pp! where were we all to sit?? it could have been a self guided tour but there really wasnt much to see. LOTS to read which is why I recommend 2 hours. I was WAY more impressed at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit!!!

An important part of American history that is often overlooked. The tour guides Nona and Crystal Marshall were outstanding and offered the group a wealth of information in an entertaining way that showed both their knowledge and their passion.

We did this as part of the Rankin House tours. I very much enjoyed it although I'm not so sure that most of the students enjoyed it. However that could be because it was such a long day and they had been on and off the bus so many times. I still got quite a bit out of it.
