I have attended many events here. The venue is great for wedding receptions, public events, movies & concerts. I would highly recommend visitors adding this to your list of "must see places"!

"The State" is right down the road from where I work. Walked to it several times.Went April 18 to see the "The acoUstiKats" after they had been on "The Singoff." Also saw country rocker J.D. Shelburne (semifinalist on "Nashville Star" on the USA Network) in June.Place is small -- less than 1,000 capacity -- so there is no bad seat in the house. Men's room and women's room are separated, which are strange, but the complex is older.Concession stand prices are reasonable, but with only two registers and small queue space, it can get tight and hectic.Main parking lot is small, but there is ample parking in the downtown area.Interior is gorgeous. I love the downtown mural and the original paintings that were unearthed and refurbished.Ticket prices are usually lower than for the same act in bigger cities.

This theater has been here many years and has been restored. This was the best theater in town during its earlier days. Everyone attended to see the latest movies, and many people had their first dates here. Been restored beautifully and now shows classic movies plus other attractions which require a stage. Worth touring!

The Historic State Theater in Elizabethtown is a great place for entertainment. Check their website because they have several different things going on there. Prices are most always a good value. They will have old movie the country music stars. You may even catch Tom Mabe or Elvis there.

It is always a thrill to see a classic movie in an appropriately historic cinematic venue. State Theater fits the bill perfectly.
