With so many beaches around I do not know that I would visit this one again. My first impression when I pulled up was a lot of broken glass near the tables. It did not all look new. Also, the beach was very very rocky and not great for running around in bare feet or getting comfortable on your beach blanket. If you just want a beautiful walk on the beach in shoes, or sit on the beach in chairs, this could be a great spot. For us, the rocks hinder how we enjoy the beach. We did love that you can walk across the street to check out the more marshy area filled with critters to investigate in nets.

The secret to Fogland is the cove side of the beach. The beach area that is monitored is less than appealing partly because of poor management and partly because of constant vandals. The cove (north side) of the beach offers a great view and warmer water. Its also shallow for as far out as 50-75 yards which my kids love. Bring a picnic or a small grill and make an afternoon and into the evening of it!

Quiet as others have mentioned. Easier on the feet if you where swim shoes in the water. Small area with a lifeguard. The rest of the beach you are on your own.

An average town beach. Fee for non-residents. It is somewhat remote but good for kids and kite boarding. A strong current could be a concern for non-swimmers.

This was perhaps one of the quietest and cleanest beach that can be, with only a handful residents of Tiverton around the serene Atlantic. The landscape is so vivid and expansive. The sky clear. We had come to Tiverton from Chicago. It took us about two hours from Boston airport to reach here and what a remarkably pleasant change it was from the hustling city of Chicago to this amazingly quiet beach town. Time spent here would always remain a cherished memory.

This is a nice little beach that I have been going to for years. There is no cost which is great but the beach is covered in shells. That is great if you are looking to add to your collection but if you want to walk in the water in bare feet, you are risking a cut. The water is great and the atmosphere is nice. There is a small bathroom facility but it was locked when I was there. There is a shower for public use around the side of that same building but it is not the easiest to find. Overall, I love coming here but if I forget my watershoes, it can seriously diminish the experience.

This is the beach I found myself at most this past summer. It's very quiet, not crowded, and the $5 entrance fee during the week is much better than the exorbitant prices in Little Compton, Newport and Middletown. Like any other New England beach, it's rocky, but the water is always clean.

Nice quiet beach with minimum wave action. Good for kids and picnics. Nice sand, water drops off gradually, Bathrooms available to 3pm or so.

We often sail up the Sakconnet River and have lunch here while watching the windsurfers , very quiet anchoage if spending the night

Fogland is a spit of sand the extends out into the Sakonnet River (eastern part of Narragansett Bay.) There is a town beach (free for locals; expensive for summer people) that is really good for small children because Fogland is about six miles from the open ocean, so there is no real surf. For more adult swimmers the bottom is rocky, covered with slippery plants. I always wear sandals when swimming at Fogland. Most adults come for a the scenery while cooling off in the middle of Narragansett Bay. You can build fires and there are a few picnic tables. Many people come to use their kayaks and canoes in the flat water. You can see a restored lighthouse and have a view south to the Atlantic Ocean.

Fogland Beach is a quiet, picturesque, secluded beach, perfect for small children, RV camping, and anyne who wants a good place to park and watch the sunset! We moor our sailboat there in the cove, and it is a stunning harbor. There is a lot of water sport usage also, lots of windsurfers and jet skiers, since there is a convenient boat ramp available.

We rented a little cottage at the end of Fogland Point and had a fabulous time watching sailboats go by. There is great wind for windsurfing and sailing and the little beach had lots of picnic tables if you wanted to bring lunch. It was a little off the beaten path but that's what we prefer.

A scenic drive through historic Tiverton takes you to Fogland beach. It has a pebbled beach, just enough sand for modest sand castles, low waves, great sea shells, great swimming for little kids, and a small but fun playground.
