I will drive the extra 25 min to go to another apple orchard before i ever return to this place. The women who runs the place (short white hair) yelled at my 3 year old for picking an apple off the wrong tree, then proceeded to scream at my husband for tossing the half rotten apple on the ground. Then she proceeded to tell my husband he was "not a nice person" and is a "bad role model" for our children! Umm seriously, for tossing a rotten apple on the ground?! Lets not forget who yelled at the 3 year old for picking an apple off a tree without a ribbon. She is rude, humiliating, and has no respect for PAYING customers or children. My advice, stay away.

We went to Spiller's farm for some u-pick action and we were not disappointed! U-pick was open from 10-12 and there were a few people there when we arrived at 10:20. The owners were friendly and the prices were not bad. We had a fun time picking blueberries, kale, swisschard, cucumbers, zucchini, and peppers with a 2 year old. Really fun, cute activity to do while in Wells or surrounding areas.

About 20 years ago a local told us to go here for takeout pizza. It was the best advice we got on vacation. They have excellent pizza rivaling what you might see in the Boston to NYC corridor with a fresh local farm flair. Really this pizza competes with the best we have seen at non resort area pricing. It is a bit of a drive (15 min off rt 1 wells) but you won't be sorry.

OH MY GOODNESS, where do I start!!!!!!! We visited this farm yesterday and I was amazed and delighted at the varieties of items that could be picked. First, were the apples which they have close to a dozen kinds to pick and pull on your own. HUNDREDS of trees! They are HUGE and delicious! They were so white inside and such an abundance. We picked corn but haven't had them yet although I am sure they are scrumptious too! Across the street is the ground veggies which were tomatoes (limited left), cherry tomatoes (see pic) oh so sweet, green peppers, eggplant, carrots (see pic) and the 2 1/2 pounder is not in the photo. It was taken to work today to be seen by all! Our tweens came with us and they had a great time picking. Little kids were there and they get such delight in picking their own food to be consumed. I think it makes it that more special!! They also had beets, long eggplant, PUMPKINS and numerous other plants which slip my mind right now. The cherry tomatoes were $1.49 lb.
