Very nice walk along shore. Just had a tragic death in the family and this was quite a refreshing stroll. Beautiful homes also.

Great place to walk and just enjoy the beauty of the earth! Fresh air and so much to enjoy! Kept jumping on and off the rocks, stopped a couple of times to just take the view in! This is one of those places where all your worries are forgotten for a moment!

The ocean trail is probably the best trail in Acadia National Park for hiking with families. Beautiful views of the ocean and the rocky shoreline. The trail is fairly flat, especially considering Acadia's other trails. However, for the adventurous person, there are still many opportunities to climb out onto the rocks.

The Ocean Trail is amazing! I would definitely go back time and time again. It is a flat, easy walk.

We find Bar Harbor very tacky and full of knick knack shops geared to the hundreds of cruise ships that dock in the harbor every month. That said, this is a nice little walk but not as magnificent as the Ocean Trail Path in Acadia National Park. It is worth doing if you are there already. One idea is to park at the far end of town and walk through town (sorry) and begin the trail near the Bar Harbor Inn. The other thing going in this direction saves is looking at the cruise ship and its minions for the entire length of the walk.

This was a well maintained trail that skirted the ocean around the edge of town. A cruise ship was in and docked right off shore which made for a great picture. I don't believe a lot of people know this trail is available to anyone for walking since it almost appears to belong to the hotels in that area. It is an easy, non strenuous walk and if you time it right you can return to the dock in time for the sunset!

I am commenting on the Ocean Trail Hiking Path in the Acadia National Park. I noticed that some of the pictures were of a path that runs along the ocean at Bar harbor. They are both nice, but certainly NOT the same thing. Here is my review of the National Park Ocean Trail Path...We didn't have a ton of time (if we did we would have done some of the other trails too!), so we decided to walk this one. It was highly suggested by the concierge at our hotel, so we gave it a shot. We were certainly not Disappointed! We had two young boys and my wife and I are in our 30/40's and none of us had any problems with the hike. Do it!

This trail runs along the ocean and takes in many sights. It is also mostly flat, so more people are able to enjoy it.

This is the trail for you if you want the great views, but are not up to the more strenuous hikes in Acadia National Park. You can make it as long as you want. Just park in one of the lots and then walk back the other way. When you are ready to stop get on a shuttle bus back to your car. This trail can be busy though so go early if possible.

We went walking every morning on this trail- beautiful views of the harbor. Gave us some ideas on where to stay on our next visit.

Easy walk with beautiful views of the bay, small islands & rugged rock formations. About 40 slow walk and mostly flat with no steps.

Several times during summer and fall I drive up to Bar Harbor, just twenty minutes away, bring my dog and a friend and spend a very pleasurable walk around this Ocean Trail. You can park near the main pier.. There are plenty of parking spaces. You will see a large hotel and a path alongside. On the side of the ocean , there a magnificent view. Down below is a rocky beach. There are places where you can walk down to the beach. Along the way on the beach you will see a huge boulder that is worth viewing and taking photos of. On the right hand side you will pass the large hotel area and many beautiful summer estates. Very lovely and historic architecture. After about 45 minutes you will see where you turn to the right . This puts you on a road that leads you to the main road in Bar Harbor. Take a right to get back to he pier. You can then visit all the major stores and wonderful seafood restaurants. It will take you about twenty minutes to go back to the pier. Make sure to bring your camera and good walking shoes.

The shore walk begins at the harbor and travels between the ocean and the huge "cottages" of the last century. It is flat and graveled and is about 1/2 long.

This is an easy level trail with fantastic views. However, it is on the Park Loop road, so buses come here and drop off lots of people. This is not a quiet place and overlooks are overrun with people when buses are there.

Great easy trail along Ocean. Beautiful views. Saw Thunder Hole. Trail gets crowded around road pull outs. Not as relaxing as some other trails because it goes right along the road
