My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to snowshoe around Augusta. This is a great place, there are many trails or you can build your own!!!We started in an open field and went through a beautiful forest. It was really nice. I am looking forward to come here, especially in the summer.

Nice place for nature lovers, a nice picnic area too. I think this arboretum is always a lovely even in winter, spring and summer.

I came in the winter for dog sled rides. What fun! And a beautiful area. I could just imagine what it might look like in spring, summer and fall. Ideal for hiking, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. Lots of sculptures dispersed throughout, also.

I visited the arboretum with friends on a beautiful September morning. We were lucky enough to visit on a day when a group of sculptors were creating in the field. Several of them were nice enough to stop their work and answer our questions. After visiting with the sculptors, we hiked the outer trail of the park. The women in the visitors center was very nice and extremely informative. Stop and get a map and be sure to take water on you hike. This is a beautiful place and well worth your time.

Easy walk around trees, plants, water, bridge and sculptures. Quite a variety of settings in the park. A little buggy once you get into the woods. Info station was not open on Sunday. Great place to take kids.

If you love nature walks, this is the place to visit. There are a number of trails to hike on and it is all free. Wear shoes that do not get your socks wet if you find a wet spot along the trail. There was not a big problem with bugs, but you might consider using an insect repellant.

Made the outerloop walk off 1,6 mile which was very nice. We were there on a Sunday so the visitor center was closed and there were not a lot of people present. You walk on mostly grass and a part through the forrest.

The arboretum has walking trails that are open year-round. The trails are wide with a gentle grade, easy for small children or adults with limited stamina. Cross country ski rental is available for a small fee. An indoor farmer's market runs on Fridays. One of my favorite places to wander when I have a couple hours free.

what is this supposed to be? after visiting the arboretum with the children we are still left to wonder what this park is supposed to be and where the attraction here lies? its only good if you really do not have anywhere better to go.

This arboretum is young and a work in progress. Many volunteers contribute to it. One outstanding new addition is the display of a number of large stone and/or metal sculptures. These art works are for sale and the arboretum gets a commission. In the meantime, anyone can wander the grounds and enjoy them. The scale of some of these pieces is huge and they all are impressive. We also especially enjoyed the quarry garden on a hot summer day. The walk there was mostly in the shade (through the hosta garden). At the quarry garden, you can take a comfortable seat while you look at the alpine and dry-adapted plants nested among the stones. We will definitely be going back to explore more of this lovely spot.

Hosta gardens, fantastic trees and wonderful landscapes are the draw here. Farmers' market on Friday year round and a dedicated volunteer group and staff reflect the interest many have for this underutilized gem in the heart of the city.

I have visited the arboretum many times> They have a lot of sign up for programs, like wild mushrooms, local birds etc. One of the things I like is the Friday Farmers market. good local food (meats, breads, vegetables and fruits) and reasonable prices. They have this market for the summer and most of the fall.
