As we casually strolled the main street we found this gem. Taste the special olive oils, vinegars and salts. The helpful staff provides direction and then leaves you alone to explore. No pressure. Yes, they have two large dogs but they were very well behaved and unintrustive. (I'm not a fan of dogs but they didn't bother me.)Taste as much as you like and there's something for everyone including the smoked bacon salt--AMAZING.

We were walking on the Main Street in lake placid and saw this little place that specialized in oils and vinegars. We went in and found two adorable dogs that greeted us very kindly, they were very well behaved and not in the way. This place was an oil sampling shop. We had never been to this kind of place, the experience was very fun. We could try any kind of oil or balsamic vinegar. We could try before we bought. Pete the clerk in the store was very friendly and helpful. This is a "can't miss" in lake placid.

Visited here just before Christmas - what fun to sample all of the exotic blends of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. My favorite is the Persian Lime oil - makes for a really fresh, tasty and unusual salad dressing. A nice treat from the usual supermarket oils. It's a small shop located right in the village of Lake Placid, easy walk from hotels and attractions.

We heard about the Saratoga Olive Oil Company through Trip Advisor. It is located conveniently on the main street in Lake Placid. It is within walking distance from the Olympic Center. We stopped there for about 45 minutes tasting all the delicious and somewhat exotic olive olives and balsamic vinegars. There was about 8 different types of white balsamics, 12 dark balsamics and 20 olive oils. The owner was very welcoming and explained the differences between all the oils and balsamics. I would highly recommend this stop if you are open to trying new flavors of oils and balsamics. The prices are reasonable and no one is pressured to buy anything when you walk in.

This unique suggestion by Trip Advisor reviewers proved to be as good as described. Who would have imagined all those olive oils to test? Many people tasted from the small cups directly, but I preferred testing with the cubes of bed they have available and bought a six pack of various selections. We bought some bakery bread to use at the cabin, but on arriving home I rewarded my son (who watched the house while we were gone) with hash browns and onions in the Garlic Olive Oil. While he is not big on olive oil, he certainly enjoyed this treat. I would recommended a visit to the store and expect to take advantage of their online shopping when these oils run low. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

So it's like wine tasting, but with bread, olive oil and other seed oils, balsamic vinegars (white and dark) and infused salts. When we walked in we were greeted by a knowledgable young woman who gave a quick overview and then left us alone to do our own exploring and tasting. I found their products to be very yummy and quite reasonable, not cheap, but I purchased a small bottle of blackberry ginger balsamic vinegar for around $13. I would recommend a stop for anyone who enjoys cooking. The truffle infused salt was delicious as well. While sales associates were available and ready to answer questions I didn't feel overwhelmed by their presense or pressured into making any purchases. It was neat little stop in Lake Placid.

We were thrilled to find this shop as our stash of oils and vinaigrettes is slowly diminishing. The shop is beautifully laid out and you can mix and match (or simply take the suggestions given) to take home some beautifully bottled oils and vinaigrettes to enjoy. We enjoyed the opportunity to shop here and to meet Brewster, the cutest black lab ever!

This is a nice little store with big selection of olive oil balsamic. Check it out, you can also sample everything and you can mix the balsamic with water to make a tasty, healthy drink.

The store is nice and clean. The staff is friendly. They have a lot of choices of olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Balsamic vinegar is really good, and come in all kinds of choices: from traditional to maple, rasperry, blueberry, strawberry, and in all kinds of combinations.

if you like olive oil and vinegar this is a must stop. They have probably have 20+ olive oils and vinegars to taste there. Very friendly and answered any questions.
