Highly recommend taking a bobsled and skeleton run. Package deal is about $130 per person. Suggest making reservations so you're not disappointed when they sell out. Safety is paramount. Staff was very friendly and ensure that you have a great time. Tee shirts, pins and photos are provided at the end of the run. Great fun!

Got to watch our son fly down the course during his Olympic luge team try out so we are definitely a little biased but this was a great venue.

Experience the bob sled with full trained and highly skilled drivers. Safety is a priority. It's fast, it's wild, it's somewhat jarring, but you MUST do it. The fee includes helmet, photo and t-shirt. You'll regret not doing it.

If you want to ride a bobsled or luge make reservations before you come to Lake Placid. Plenty of parking, warm viewing area via video. The track can be viewed from a couple of different viewing areas outside. Perfect to hear the sled coming and see how fast they are moving.

It's pricey and lasts about 40-60 seconds but I don't regret it one bit. Contact them advance and make a reservation because time slots go very quickly. If you have a tight timetable to get in and out of Lake Placid, call well in advance because the more desirable morning slots go first (for everyone trying to ride a bobsled on their way out of town (like us)). Walk-in rides can't be guaranteed, and we saw multiple walk-in families turned away when we were signing our waivers. Riding the bobsled is a very well-oiled and efficient machine of a process. My only single solitary regret is that I didn't have time for a bobsled helmet selfie. It's a wild ride, incredibly fast, pulling 2Gs around the curves. We loved it. We were grinning like loons afterward. I just also have to add though that the road leading through the complex is a pot-holed mess. NYS gets a lot of my tax dollars but I guess they're not spending them here.

This is the main reason we went to visit Lake Placid and the attraction didn't disappoint. VERY smoothly run operation when we went, although we had reservations. They moved our reservations around though because it was -20 below outside and they rescheduled them for when it was a "balmy" -5 below instead! The temps didn't matter because the event was such a rush!

My husband and daughter did it together. They loved it, better than any roller coaster. Need to make reservations ahead of time, it fills up fast. Not cheap, I think around $90 per person. My younger daughter (age 8) was scared, and did not want to go. For that price, I really was not going to try to convince her.

Cost clearly overpriced by 1/2. What is worse is the fact that the folks working there did nothing to create or make the event more of a fun exciting experience...especially for the kids. We interfaces with 5 different people stations...upon check in, shuttle to top, drivers at top, pitcher taker, checkout person giving photos. Not one individual went out of thier way to create a meaningful experience or even engage in friendly conversation about the event etc. a big miss....spend your money elsewhere.

could not take a run but we walked up the course, very amazing to see all of the banked corners, good pictures of early competition

We made reservations, so that was a good thing. You wait in a nice lobby and are shuttled right up to the ride. people are very friendly. The kids loved the ride (ages 11 and 8). I found it a bit rough on the head and neck, but heck, I'm old. I wouldn't pay to do it a second time, but for a once in a lifetime experience, it was fun.

I came to see the Women's Luge Race in December 2014. It is amazing to see a luge race in person as they move so fast, and you can stand so close to the track. I watched the first run at the starting area. It was interesting to see the look of determination on the young women's faces as they were about to start the fast and twisting trip down the track. It was also interesting to see the coaches and how they interacted with the athletes. I watched the 2nd run at one of the open curves, where I could see how fast they were moving. The only bad part was the weather, as it was a wet snow, which made it hard for the racers. This is the second time I saw races. The first time the weather was perfect. That time I saw Men's Doubles in the morning and Women's in the afternoon. That was the race when Erin Hamlin won, being the first American to win, which made it even more exciting! A very special day.

We went for my Sons Birthday treat, his Birthday is in September but we waited for the cold weather. we drove 2 1/2 hours for 45 seconds of intense Bobsled riding...he said it was worth every penny and length of journey...the smile on his face was wonderful...

We were in Lake Placid during a snowstorm, but that did not deter us from taking a trip up to the bobsled and luge complex, where we found a group of dedicated luge-ers training. We discover that they go much faster in person than when watching the Olympics on TV! Very interesting side trip.

I finally didn't do the bobsled. The young man was not friendly at all and I fell I was bothering him trying to get information. When I did ask more information about the other employee , she couldn't answer anything. I was very disappointed, they were basics questions. I decided to leave and do nothing. To go past the gift shop, you have to pay 9$, it can add up easily if you visit every facility.

Bobsledding was pricey, but definitely worth it. It was very official, and you got a T-Shirt, pin, and a great experience. There were helmet cameras, and went fast around turns, really felt the force, and what it felt to be an olympic bobsledder
