As soon as you get off the tube, you know you're near a typical beach with rides, fast-food chains and long stretches of busy beaches. But, as Coney Island has been recently re-vamped, it is surprisingly nice. When we visited it (twice) it was pleasantly busy, and the long stretch of pavement (?) was full of people buying food and drinks. The beach was always clean and maintenance were busy keeping it rubbish free for the visitors. There are toilet and showering facilities, which were as clean as they could be with wet and sandy children running through them. I would say that the prices of food were a bit expensive, and the queues were long, but that's what you'd expect on a sunny day in New York.

Visited the beach on a day when there was as least 6ins.snow so we just imagined there was sand underneath! Would love to visit later when all the fun fairs were open. It looked an amazing place with all the fun of an "old fashioned fun fair " A long board walk to enjoy with bars & dinerswhich were closed as not the season .

Where else can you drink jumbo-sized Pina Coladas, eat Nathans hot dogs, Shoot A Freak, play Ms. Pac Man, and ride the bumper cars a thousand times in a row at $5 a pop?? I ask you – where? Coney Island that’s where! Take the F to the end, jump in the ocean when you had enough. (Warriors!!! Come out to Play-ay!) Sausage & Peppers! - Oh yeah – and when I headed over to the ball field to see the Cyclones play ball and it was the 7th inning the guy let me sneak in for free! With fireworks over the beach afterwards! Only in New York folks… Only in New York.

It was summer, loads of people on the beach... which is a very democratic space, indeed! The Rollercosters are all over and if ypu like it, this is paradise!!A place to spend a lot of money and have some fun!

Always wanted to visit Coney to see the famous Boardwalk and the funfair and to say is been where the Warriors had famously tread, wasn't disappointed even though everything was closed due to the season and the biting cold that made for a brisk walk along the boardwalk, definetly worth a visit if your in the New York area.

Came on a very cold day - 25 degrees - and bundled up. It was cold but cool to see Coney in the winter months. Not many folks... No rides or sideshows open, but fun to walk around and see the rides and enjoy the silence!

I had a spectacular time at Coney Island. I really enjoyed it. Coney Island is a place where you can go and have fun but at the same time relax. There are rides, sights and the beach to enjoy.

If you're looking for sun, fun, and great comfort food, this is the place for you! And when you are all tuckered out from all the rides and attractions you can lay on the beach and relax or strole through the amazing aquarium. Coney island is one of the greatest attractions in Brooklyn. A must see! Enjoy!

The beach is beautiful, and thanks to the outstanding work done by the Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP), the water is clean and a pleasure to swim in. If you love long ambles along the water, this is the place for you - you can literally walk for hours from the west end of Sea Gate to the eastern tip of Brighton Beach. The fishing pier is a great place for people-watching and for the Friday night fireworks during the summer, as are the boardwalk and our favorite hangout, Ruby's Bar & Grill, one of the few original boardwalk businesses remaining. Despite the city's efforts to scrub and "mall" the place, it still retains some of its wonderful honky-tonk feel. All are welcome, and you will see and hear an amazing array of people of all ages, shapes, sizes, accents, and lovely colors. In addition to the mighty Cyclone (I recommend riding it first, on an empty stomach, to fully experience its cathartic effect - better than any therapy!), the Wonder Wheel and the open-year-round El Dorado bumper cars are essentials. It's just plain fun, and you never know who you'll meet - I met my husband on the boardwalk and we've made many friends there over the years!

Area is still dingy. A lot of empty lots. It needs a lot of money to clean it up to make it a world class destination. Very bad neighborhoods closs by.
