Albany is the worse. You can EXPECT to get a ticket if you frequent any of the businesses downtown. That is why I never patronize Albany anymore. Once I parked downtown after six, and they bagged all the meters, then ticketed and towed everyone. Thankfully I was parked in front of the restaurant, saw what was happening and rescued my car before being towed but still got a ticket as that was the first thing they did. Then, just yesterday I was at a downtown theater, paid for the pass, put it on my dashboard and STILL GOT A TICKET. Stay away from Albany.

Albany, what a surprisingly beautiful place with the historic buildings. The City Hall makes a statement. Highly recommended.

The City Hall was very near our hotel and we enjoyed breathtaking night time views of it as we returned from dining out. Very historic and interesting architecture.

Love going into this building because it is very beautiful and the very stately. The ceiling is a site to behold and it is all marble and quite something to spend some time in.

Beautiful place. We stopped for a quick dinner at the nearby subway and with all the many historic buildings, we decided to go for a quick walk around the block. At the top of the hill, the City hall is magnificent!!! Make sure you continue a little and pass by the appeal court of NY State and the very nice red stone cathedrals that are around.

The City Hall is so ostentatious there's a walking tour to see it. It's actually really interesting. At the same time, one can't help but marvel at how much money was used on it. Definitely a must-visit.

We enjoyed our visit to the capitol of NYS and took in the many sights that the city had to offer. The parking at times can be very difficult so be aware.

I got a parking ticket in an area that had no meters no signs (right across the street from the photo seen here). The meter maid was writing the ticket as I returned to the car. I asked why, she said I was right but this area is usually where NYSED employees park (I was there on a school recess day). I can't remember, I think the ticket was $50. Bummer but, that's Albany.

I was very impressed with Albany New York. In downtown Albany near the city hall is bronze statues of everyday people , mailman, fireman, policeman, etc.So Cool!! Albany City Hall is also equally impressive. The Hudson River is near Albany and is senic to visit as well as Albany. New Yorks State Capitol.Dont forget a camera as you will want to take pictures of the bronze statues in different poises ,very impressive.

It means I am paying a parking ticket, so I don't like it here. Why is this on here? There is nothing but offices inside. If you are going to Albany stand outside and look at the building but don't go in. The architecture is it's only redeeming quality.

This is a nice piece of architecture. It's crowing jewel is the carillon (the beautiful bells) that play every day.

The inside of the buiding is unusual, the outside is "Wonderfully!" Dutch, the tower music is beautiful. Please take care of this beautiful building...

Perfect example of old albany. inside and out. If your in the area take a look around it. just don't get a parking ticket or you'll have to come back.

Albany City Hall is a beautiful building worth checking out if you are touring Albany. The entry has 3 turrets that are beutiful and the 1st floor area below the stair case, with its 4 story ceiling is very nice (they don't make buildings like this any more. Walk the staircase to the second floor and look at the wall murals. Check out the court room if it is open ... beutiful woodwork, and the common council meeting room. At noon you can here the carrilon play its music from above the 4th floor.
