I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday and the round was terrific. I love historic "old school" courses and Leatherstocking exceeded all of my expectations. Conditions were top notch and play moved quickly. I still like the Old Course at St Andrews better, but this is definitely in my top 10.

I was hoping to have a pleasant day of late October golf. We arrived to find the clubhouse staff more than congenial , as they offered to let us out about 45 minutes prior to our scheduled tee time. There was only one other foursome on the course. We played about ten holes before we were approached by staff and asked nicely to pick up the pace of play. We didn't notice anyone waiting behind us, but we obliged. A short time later, the same stout individual came out and demanded that we pick up the pace. Again, not having a group within site behind us, we asked .... but were immediately interrupted and told "Pick up the pace , I know what I'm talking about". I then began to pay attention and saw that the next group behind us was 1 1/2 holes behind.This left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. It is a beautiful course, but the day was nearly ruined when a group of 40, 50 and 60~something guys are spoken to like they are being scolded by their father, for no apparent reason.

Great course that was in great condition. Greens were good and course is well taken care of? Nice views fairways and greens in great condition

I played the course on August 18, 2014. The course was in great shape and the greens ran very true. The setting is magnificent. Even more important was the way in which my friend and I were treated. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and the service was excellent. The pace of play was very good we played in a little over four hours and never waited. If you are in the area and want a challenging day on the links play this course.

Played this course on a day with light rain. It had rained a few days earlier and the course was in great shape. No standing water. Everything had been cut. Had workers on the course raking traps. Really enjoyed the course. Loved the view from the 16th tee. Downhill, traps on left and pond on right. Lake view in the distance. Not many flat lies and it would have been nice to have a little local knowledge on a few holes. A few blind shots to greens protected by bunkers. All in all a great day on the course. Starter was really nice and gave some course tips.

WOW...what a gem of a golf course in Cooperstown, NY. Its hilly and very verdant. The fairways were so beautifully manicured that my wife thought we were in a fancy private club. I think there are three or four signature holes that you will go home remembering. I loved the 17th...a 200 yard shot over water-which I didn't make!!

Tried their "flash golf" where you can play five holes in an hour after 4 p.m. The course was beautiful and the pro shop offered free rental clubs. I will return.

Course isn't that difficult but the views can't be beat from tons of holes. Enjoyable visit. Carts only when busy but you don't want to walk this hilly course.

I don't know any golfer who would be disappointed in this course. It is situated along Otsego Lake which provides for some challenging holes & spectacular views! Greens fees seemed reasonable with other courses of this caliber, too.

We were visiting Cooperstown for the Baseball HOF and While planning the trip I discovered Leatherstocking as a New York top rated golf course. What a fun course to play. The course is not long but every hole is designed differently and requires using every club you have. They have long par 5s and a short par 3 that is a wedge shot into a green surrounded by traps. From the tee area it looks like a postage stamp!Golf is not cheap as this course is connected to a resort property but if you want to play a good course in great shape while in Cooperstown, play Leatherstocking.

Didn't play, but got a good look, and WOW, go enjoy livingthe life. This is a beautiful, elegant course, and the whole placeis eye candy.

Just golfed there on Sunday and it was so beautiful and just a great course. It rained on the first hole and everyone was so nice that they refunded my payment and let us come back later when the weather changed to warm and sunny. They only charged me for the nine holes we were able to play.

This is a great course for the true golfer! Very challenging layout, with outstanding views of Otsego Lake and Cooperstown.Greens are in great shape, hill holes are a lot of fun. Nice patio area for lunch or a drink after your round.

That is the question this club needs to ask itself. When you pay the fee we did to play out here you need to treat your guest a little better. Why would you send a twosome right behind a foursome. Then expect us to let them through. Then have your blue hair members complain we are taking to long. When you send someone out to speed us up don't have him talk to us rudely. I have been playing for over 40 years and have never been talked to so rudely. Do your members want guest playing out here? If so don't take my money & treat me poorly while your doing it. You have a good product that is a little over priced with poor service.

A well groomed course with excellent views and plenty of challenges. Service is excellent, too, clubs are cleaned and if you're golfing more than one day, store them and they'll be waiting for you on your cart the next day.
