I scheduled this tour for my 29 year old daughter and myself as an "adventure". I am a bit overweight and I haven't been on a bike in years so I was a little nervous about my ability to handle the Segway. Turns out there was no reason to worry at all. The tour leaders teach each person how to ride individually and they run around the parking lot with you until you feel comfortable and are able to control the segway yourself. The tour itself runs along an old railroad trail; you will be going around fences and crossing roads but it really is not that hard to maneuver the segway. The tour leader set a good pace but you can go as fast or as slow as you feel comfortable and the "leaders" will stop periodically to let you catch up. As far as the "sights", there really wasn't much to see but the ride itself was a BLAST and I am looking forward to booking the tour again in the spring and bringing along our hubbies to share the fun!

Try to do in on a sunny day in the Fall to view the leaves....although you'll be too busy driving the Segway that you won't have time to enjoy too much of the scenery or take time to take photos. We did in on a Groupon which made it a great value. The staff was helpful and the instructions prior to setting out were thorough. The instructor/guide showed great patience throughout. It is more of a trail ride than a tour. Great Fun! It's easy: If I can do it so can you! Reserve by e-mail and make sure you get the reservation confirmed.

I got tickets from Groupon to bring 4 people on the tour and then tried to schedule the tour...never received calls back, never was given any information, never received e-mails back to numerous requests. Showed up to try to make a reservation and was told by the person running the business he could not make a reservation from the site and that I should come back 6 hours later and there would be availability...came back and was then told that there was no availability at that time. Disgusted with the entire business...too bad because I live in the area and was really excited to find something new to do! If you have a reservation and confirmation it's great...if not the service is TERRIBLE!

We really enjoy touring with a Segway. This was our first time with Woodridge but we did 3 other tours prior to this tour. The staff was very friendly and arrived on time. Plenty of time was given for instruction. The railroad trail was nice to ride on and the time of the tour was as expected. I wouldn't call it a tour though, it was more like just a ride in the park. There seemed to be some history here but none of that was mentioned by the guide. He just kept telling everyone to watch out for the rocks. This is a nice day out in the country so give it a try.

I went on this tour recently with several friends and we really had a great time. The staff was friendly and courteous and they showed us how to operate the Segway's safely.

im into new gadgets, and i loved riding the segway. the trail was beautiful and tranquil, and there was such beautiful foliage along the entire path. the tour guide was really nice, and i was so glad not to be biking along the trail and was able to just be one with nature. not only was it fun, but it was also relaxing and so enjoyable all at the same time. i recommend this to everyone that had teens. the only annoying part is that if you have small kids, they cant go on, but theres a shopping center right there where you can grab a bite, and have a picnic in the beautiful park right next to the segway trail! very worth while price and activity.

So I typed in new york segway tour on google and this is what I found. We got a babysitter for the day and headed up to the catskills. The whole experience was relaxed and easy. We'd never been on segways before so we didn't know what to expect. Had no idea it was so user-friendly. My wife was very nervous before getting on but within minutes she was laughing like a little kid. Would recommend to anyone. A great time.

Went with my wife outing was special - we had time together on this beautiful trail in the lush forest. Tour was around 70 80 minutes not too long not too short. Then we went for Pizza in town just two minutes away. Very pleasant atmosphere.

Short review: I'm in my 20's and booked a 9am tour for me and my boyfriend 2 weeks in advance and when we arrived, no one was there. Long review: We made it a point to confirm with them a few days prior, the day before, the morning of the tour. We arrived on time to find other couples waiting there since 8:30am. 15 minutes after the tour was suppose to start we attempted to contact them via telephone several times. A few couples left around 9:30am. At 9:40am someone finally showed up to open the office. At this point we had no interest in continuing with the tour, as it was 40 minutes late and the Segways were not set-up/ready. It would have taken an additional 20 minutes to have the Segways taken out and provide everyone with an instructional demonstration. From a customer service standpoint, I found the experience with this company unprofessional and extemely inconsiderate, especially since myself and others drove 90+ minutes and used 1/2 tank gas, at a time when gas is $4+ a gallon in New York. We sent them an email/ complaint and have not heard back from them, not even an apology for the inconvenience. Don't think they will be in business too much longer if they keep this act up. Please don't waste your time or money with this company.

they didn't show up for our tour. we were waiting for 30 minutes with 4 other couples. What a waste of time/gas/money and effort. BAD BUSINESS

always have a good time here.to the person or people who did not have a good time.I have always found the segways well maintained and have a good time.lets not forget you r not taking a tour in a city with much to see.it is in a small town and not major city with much to see.this attraction is really geared to the summer visitors of the Catskills as well as summer camps.whenever i pass the place the visitors always seem to be having agood time.i will agree with you that the guide could be a bit more enthusiastic.then again anyone can simply b having a bad day

I toured with these guys - yes its not a 3 hr ride - thats not what they offer. The trail is besutiful exactly what is shown on their website. Its a nature trail in a beautiful setting. All our units were fine and everyone was provided a helmet even a hair net! Had a totaly different experience.

If you are looking for a peaceful ride through a boring path, then this segway adventure meets you needs. Don’t expect to see interesting sights riding a top notch segway. It’s advertised as a 90 minute tour, when in fact it can take as little as 40 minutes. We had taken our first Segway tour in a big city and absolutely loved it. I could not wait to do it again. In that case the company was very professional, safety-conscious, informative and interesting. We expected the same from Woodridge but got the complete opposite. The office is located in what might be considered a trailer or other temporary building. You are greeted by your escort who is less than enthusiastic. There are no bathrooms, so go before you get there; otherwise you can use the porta-potties about a half mile away. There is no safety video and no group instruction. You should wear a helmet but you are asked if you brought your own because they may not have enough. The guide will scout around for one for you. The segways are all waiting outside the building and you get to choose the one you want (they are all slightly different). The segways don’t seem to be charged in between rides, but then again the ride is so short, they probably don’t need to be, at least you hope there’s enough charge to get you back. Most of the approximately 12 segways had bald tires. One that looked fairly decent seemed to have alignment issues and was told it was brand new and had not been broken in yet. So you have a choice; a new one that veers to the left or an old one with bald tires. Instruction is individual for all of one minute. One person in our group was not even told how to stop. You get to ride around the parking lot for as long as it takes for your group to gather. Then you are led across the street into a bumpy dirt path, which actually starts to hurt after a few minutes of bumping up and down. There is absolutely nothing to see except a small lake. It’s about 15 minutes in each direction. The guide accompanies you, but actually not the whole time. The guide basically just fixed the several segways that stalled or to fixed the segway’s height adjustment that loosened on one. Another issue was that the “non-broken in” segway kept losing its power and was difficult to steer because of the alignment. Luckily because of my wonderful first experience with a segway I knew how to ride and the risks involved. The pre-ride orientation of my first tour built my confidence and calmed my nerves. It’s actually quite easy. If this had been my first ride, I would have been shaking the entire trip and never want to do it again. The condition of the segways was so poor I felt that it was an accident waiting to happen. For this Woodridge tour I kept wishing for it to be over and was actually glad the advertised 90 minutes was only 45. (My first segway tour was close to 3 hours.) Luckily the weather was beautiful so it was a nice day to be outside, but I would have preferred to walk. After this Woodridge experience I have no desire to do it again in a rural area where there is no “tour”. I much prefer the tours where there are some interesting sights and small challenges, such as riding in crowded tourist areas and crossing major streets. I also prefer to deal with professional companies that make safety their top priority even though the price is considerably more.
