I'm a coffeeholic! Tea was something from my childhood; a kind of warm comfort, like chicken soup is when you're under the weather. And, other than an occasional cup of Irish Breakfast I saved the thought of tea as a remedy for just those occasions. Then along came Syd Hoffman and TeaLeafs.I had the pleasure of visiting Syd during TeaLeafs' Grand Opening on Main Street in Williamsville a few years ago and since then have had several occasions to visit, shop, bring my family and friends - and explore the world of teas, rooibos, oolongs and especially mate's (my favorite because it's so much like coffee). Syd promised that she'd shake the coffee 'monkey' off my back and here I am no longer a tasting buddy of Juan Valdez. I still do love coffee, but Syd has found in me a fan of teas. Let's just say that I don't vibrate at 4,000 rpm's anymore.TeaLeafs is a very relaxing place where you can explore the world of tea, taste and sniff samples, shop for gifts for the tea lovers in your life, and leave all that coffee behind - at least for a little while. In the last few years I've found that TeaLeafs assortment is broader, their expertise greater and their prices more reasonable than similar competitors. And where you find it to be less expensive elsewhere, it is almost assuredly of lesser quality. I revisited TeaLeafs the other day and found that it had expanded significantly. They have an exceptional inventory of bulk teas and tea accessories and literally a wall of teas to sample. But if you ask me what the best part of TeaLeafs is, I'd have to say it's Syd herself. With her expertise, avid love of tea and excellent customer service she is herself - the TeaLeafs brand. TeaLeafs ships to the U.S. and Canada and offers a convenient way to have their products delivered directly to your door. (Ask about international orders.) Check out their website, Facebook page or visit the shop and meet Syd in person. Good luck Syd and company.Cheers to Cha!
