We are members and really enjoy Spring Summer and Fall at this fantastic quiet place..They have great programs for kids and excellent trails, plus the lake itself..All kind of birds..Kingfisher, Bald Eagles, Fishing Eagles ,Swans and maybe you see a Bittern or an otter. Snakes and frogs and turtles..Ducks and geese. Chipmunks. Maybe a raccoon. Deer once in a while too..No fishing allowed only looking at nature and enjoying the great experience of being outdoors....

My parents used to live in the apartments right next store, and as a kid we would hike here all the time! I loved walking around the lake and checking out the cool animals or reptiles they had. Great experience, especially for young kids!

Upon seeing reviews for this place I decided to take a drive up there (from the Bronx). After a nice scenic ride up the Taconic in the fall, I was there within 45 minutes. There are a few parking lots to choose from. Take a good look at the map online before coming so that you can decide which trail you want to be close to. I chose the one next to the nature center. The nature has a few reptiles including turtles, some fish and snakes. There is also a small shop in there that sells coffee, snacks and souvenirs. There are a bunch of trails which you can follow. The reservation is well kept and organized as the trees are marked with colored tags so that you can stay on track. The entrance and exits of trails also has the distance of the trail, which is very helpful. I only did the 1.5 mile lakeside trail this time but I plan on returning to hike more trails. Some lovely scenic views throughout the reservation. There is no fee by the way and both bikes and pets are allowed.

What a special place! Miles of trails, a great nature center, no charge to visit to boot. I would visit every day if I could.

Teatown has miles of hiking trails, a large lake, a nature interpretation center great for kids, a number of live animals and a wildflower island that is a real gem.

Everyone we know loves Teatown. We mostly hike the trails as a family. It is beautiful year round. There are a large number of guided tours available. Switch your walks here with trips to the Rockefeller park in Pocantico Hills and you can't go wrong.

A fantastic experience for children and adults alike. Nature trails, nature center with educational programs and nature camp, birds of prey, movie night, and endless programs and opportunities for family and friends. A true natural experience to be shared and enjoyed.

Took my girlfriend on a walk around the lake on the many trails they have. Also took my nephew here to show him the animals inside. Great location to get away and enjoy the outdoors.

Teatown is a great place to hike. They have a nature center where you can see snakes, turtles, and other wildlife. A good place to bring the kids.

I live about 5 minutes from Teatown and go there a few times a year to take a walk or participate in some of the events they have. In winter they do demonstrations on how maple syrup is made, in the spring they have guided tours of wildflower island, etc. There are lots of events for kids and/or adults. Many other times we just go to walk around. There are many hiking trails and it's beautiful any time of year. The easiest trail is the one which goes around the lake. It takes about an hour to walk at a leisurely pace and features a fairly long floating bridge. Really cool.I am a member, and you should be too if you enjoy the place. It's important to give them some financial support.

Beautifully laid out trails around Teatown Lake through the woods and over the water. The nature center has some local animals with exhibits and a small gift shop with local products. Outside you can find rescued hawks, owls and other local birds living in protection. They offer a wonderful fall festuival with crafts, exhibitors and lots of fall treats!

This place is good if you want a leisurely stroll around the lake, or a quiet picnic and to read a book. There are a few animals in cages to see but it can't be called a zoo. They are rescues , mostly birds. Once in a while the little museum has a plant sale which I like. Overall it's boring for kids that need to be entertained constantly
