历史自然地理全部的都有涉及到,我觉得如果时间不太充足,就免得浪费时间在这里。一来比较少,虽然说五脏俱全,可是如果从码头过去也还是得花个十几分钟,我宁愿去时代广场呆着。

We were killing some time and trying to wait out a storm and decided to try this museum. We love museums and rarely miss an opportunity. The staff here is so helpful! They told us all about the exhibits, the area, suggested places to get some food, marked things on a visitor's map so we wouldn't get lost. The museum is very old school - a pretty good gem and mineral exhibit, a small natural history area, and a very detailed exhibit on the ferries.

We adquired good science knowledge together with my wife and child. Very well displayed all the rich elements in all the museum. Congratulations to all supporters and keep up with more attractions as more plants, minerals, insects and animals.!

Our grandson and his parents chose this as location for his 4th birthday party. Great venue for a a children's party age at this age. Museum employees guided children through several sections of museum where they had ample time and room to explore. Easily accommodated 20 guests with adequate parking in lot close to building. Spacious party room for pizza and birthday cake. Many "hands-on" things for children to explore. Grandson has been before and will return. Like all kids party venues, pricey but good value.

This museum will shortly move further from the ferry terminal, to a location with more space. But they do wonders with what they have now, and richly deserve to be better publicised, and supported, mainly for local and natural history exhibits.

I just happened to see this building on the horizon after getting off the Staten Island Ferry ... What a local 'little' treasure. It included a history of the Staten Island Ferry system, Aboriginal inhabitants of Staten Island, and a natural history collection. The staff was enthusiastic and happy to have visitors. the cost was a $3.00 donation ... And if you can get anything for $3.00 in New York City ... That's. almost free ... Jump on it!

My wife and I have been to Manhattan several times and have visited a lot of the main tourist attractions and museums there, so before our most recent trip we searched online for other inexpensive historical/cultural/educational things to do. We found the Staten Island Museum, and were excited about the "Return of the 17-year Cicadas" Exhibition as we'd seen cicadas before but didn't know much about them. The Museum building itself impressed us right away as it's an old house and was spotlessly clean, and the friendly staff members were fun to talk with and helpful. The Cicada exhibition was our favorite-the more we checked the displays and read, the more we got into it. All of the other displays were interesting too, and though some of the things weren't from Staten Island, they were connected to Staten Island. The Museum had a real charm to it because it's a manageable size for looking through without any pressure, and also because the slower pace of things on Staten Island was a nice change from Manhattan.

The Staten Island Museum was disappointing. The focus is on natural history and cabinets full of rocks and fossils (many not even from Staten Island). There was an interesting display of taxidermy birds of Staten Island and a semi-interesting display about 17 year cicadas but generally the museum is light on information and interesting things. The Staten Island Ferry display was also a let down; there is virtually nothing about its history, how and why it came about, memorabilia and anecdotes etc. I am glad I visited during the free admission period as I would have felt very ripped-off otherwise.

This facility is close to transportation. Well kept and had very interesting information about Staten Island. There is a pay parking lot across the street.

Really didn't know what to expect when we stumbled across this museum but stone me! We found the mixture of natural science and history very informative. The staff were very helpful and happy to chat and share their knowledge. There personal passion was obvious and this was delightful. I would recommend this museum highly.

We took a trip on the Staten Island ferry mainly to see the harbour area but on our arrival at Staten Island we decided to spend some time on the island and not take the next ferry back as so many other people did. Outside the Terminal building we could see the Museum over towards the right behind the car park and we decided to give it a visit. We were not disappointed. I think that we were about the only visitors while we were there so the very knowledgeable curatorial staff had plenty of time to talk to us. While the exhibits are a bit of a hotch potch they all had a link to the island and I was particularly interested in the exhibits associated with the ferry and other maritime matters. Well worth the visit.

This museum is small and dirty, with an odd collection of items that mostly have nothing to do with Staten Island. A wall of dead bugs? I could understand if they were native bugs, but it seems there is no regard to the borough. The directors need to get out of the 19th century "cabinet of curiosities" motif. No food, no parking, and a dirty bathroom.

This is a three story building with many many rooms and wonderful exhibits. There is a $5 fee. It gives you a pretty good idea of what Staten Island is all about and what it has to offer. It is just up the hill from the SI Ferry.

Wasn't sure what to expect here, but it was great. Lots of hands-on science and ecological stuff. My kids were suffering from lets-go-back-to-times-squareitis, but I was pleasantly surprised that they really got into it. I had to pull all three of my kids out of there. Allow about an hour, especially if the kids get into drawing birds, etc....Well worth the small fee.

Located up hill from the SI Ferry and also at Snug Harbor Cultural Center, this is a place where local children have their first museum experience. The current show is about cicadas and has a big lighted sculpture outside, so drive by the night before your visit to build your excitement. The nature programs are amazing! Check out the calendar to reserve your space.
