Took the cruise that went to Singer Castle. This castle has only been open to the public for a few years, and what a treat it is. What an experience everything is restored beautifully. The tour guides take great pride in their jobs and describe everything you ever wanted to know about the place and its grounds. It looks the way it would have when it was occupied. Do not miss the opportunity to visit this architectural wonder in the 1,000 islands

Bring sunscreen. The boat ride is long and can be chilly, even on a warm summer day. Do Singer Castle before doing Boldt Castle. Singer Castle is beautiful, but will be a let down after Boldt Castle. Also recommend doing the 2 tours on different days. The morning tours are better. Alexandria Bay has got to be one of the ugliest towns in the USA, so you don't want to be stuck there in between boat rides. Uncle Sam Boat Tours are adequate, but the boats are dirty and the guides puppet-like. They memorize their script word for word, even down to the jokes, so you'll hear the exact same sentences, exact same jokes, one after another.

Stayed for a night. Can't say enough. Secret passageways, stunning views, travel by boat. Do yourself a favor and visit this castle!!!

your visit to the 1,000 islands would not be complete without touring singer castle. this is one of two castles in the islands, but is the only one that is in "move in condition" and in fact you can stay overnight if you like. assessable by tour boat or your private boat. take the tour with knowledgeable guides. an episode of the t.v. show, "great escape" was filmed here!

The Singer Castle was delightful to explore and included secret passages, peepholes, and underground tunnels. You can actually stay at the castle for a mere $800 per night (tongue in cheek). Some German investors have been buying up old castles around the world and restoring them. It was so interesting to be able to go into every area to get a full picture of a building.

After a number of visits with the family to Boldt Castle, we decided it was time to see Singer Castle, as well. We were so glad we did! The staff was friendly, our tour guide was wonderful, and the castle was not only beautiful, but full of unique stories, secret passageways and intriguing inventions of the time period. I have visited a number of castles, and, in comparison, Singer Castle is brighter and more cheery than most. A great place to spend part of your day! As a tour planner, I will definitely be including this castle on our up-coming trip to the region. *Please note - climbing stairs is necessary during your tour.

I hate guided tours and was miserable on this tour. I couldn't get away and hated the whole thing. It was super boring and the guide we had just had no personality. Sure she knew her stuff about the castle but eh she made it worse. I couldn't get back on the boat soon enough.

We recently stayed at the Royal Suite at Singer Castle and had such a great time! Our tour guide was so sweet and really knowledgeable about the castle. When you stay the night there, you also get an extended tour of all the secret passageways and other buildings on the island. The island's caretaker, Scott, gives the extended tour. He knows so much about the history of the castle! The food they provided was delicious and getting to explore the island and castle was so fun! A highly recommended experience!! All the staff really go above and beyond!

This is a beautiful castle and with many of the original furnishing and a Great story. My wife loved all the old singer sewing machines.

The castle is great. It's in the middle of 1000 Islands and well worth the tour. You can even now book a room for the night if you desire. Some of the historical facts interested us as well as the boat ride to get to the castle. Tour is about an hour and there is a gift shop

Maybe it's because I had a terrible tour guide, but I didn't enjoy Singer Castle nearly as much as I enjoyed Boldt Castle. Granted, the décor is better because some of it is still original and unlike Boldt Castle, Singer Castle was actually in use, but the tour guide made it so......un-fascinating. I understand these are young kids back from college break, but rushing us through the entire tour in about 35 minutes, speaking in monotone, and giving absolutely no interesting tidbits of information made me resent paying $70 for 2 people to go via Uncle Same Boat Tours. Plus, I very much enjoyed the "at your pace" of Boldt Castle versus the guided tour of Singer Castle. The only really interesting part was the woman who took care of the library was able to tell us interesting things about the books.

We visited on Uncle Sam Boat Tours from Alexandria Bay. Though a longer ride than the short one to Boldt Castle (10 minutes), it was quite enjoyable to view the scenery and kick back a little. The castle has an interesting history and this is a guided tour. My kids especially enjoyed viewing the secret passageaways. If you have time to view Singer and Boldt, go for it. Otherwise, if time is limited, Boldt Castle is the shorter trip from Alexandria Bay and that one is a self paced tour with no guide needed.

So much to see and so interesting. Only wish that there was a Customs check in onsite. A visit to the 1000 Island is a must and a trip to Singer Castle will be a highlight.

The decor in this place has not changed. Great place to tour and even stay overnight. Very informative history to this eery looking castle.

Unlike Boldt castle, you have limited time to see castle then back to boat. I would have like to stay longer and seen things at my pace
