It is absolutely wonderful to go to an old theater and see what it's all about. The curtains, the ceiling, seats, everything was designed to be beautiful and functional. This theater is keeping up with the times while still catering to audiences that remember when. They show old films for special fundraising events, and modern films on a regular basis. It's a neat place to go, and the prices are great!

This classic old theater is like the Little Engine That Could. Up until very recently it was still showing reel-to-reel movies, but they became harder and harder to come by. Converting to digital seemed out of reach financially, and they actually closed down, seemingly for good. We're not completely sure of the details, but much to our joy they re-opened only a few weeks later with one of two screens converted to digital, and the second screen made the switch recently as well. Even having raised their prices by a dollar, they are still an amazing bargain. 2 people can see a matinee AND have snacks for under $20! The owners and their staff (appears to be mostly family members) are very friendly, and we're so happy to see them doing well and getting all the new releases. Kudos to the Colonia!
