Lapland Lakes is our favorite family vacation place for many reasons. First of all, the trails are expertly groomed and meticulously maintained. Once you ski here, other places will not measure up. Secondly, we love to unplug - in the cottages, there is no TV, phone, cell service or internet (you can get internet in the lodge if you need to connect). We always have a great family time getting out and skiing, tubing, ice skating and snow shoeing. In the cottage we play board games, do puzzles and read. The service you receive is also unmatched, and the owners make you feel like you are their special guests. We highly recommend Lapland Lakes for a special family vacation.

Admittedly, we had great conditions, but it wouldn't change my opinion -- this place is GREAT! Way off the beaten path, this is a series of perfectly groomed, well laid out trails through woods, mild hills, around the lake, over stream, you could ski for hours without hitting the same trail twice (well maybe just me, I'm slow). Seriously every part of the trails we hit were just stunningly beautiful - no big open corn fields here. We came with our own skis but were impressed by the large selection of rentals that were new in their sweet little lodge/rental center. The Tupas are fantastic too. Stay for the weekend, definitely!

We are a outdoor club and this is our 2nd year staying at Lapland Lakes Ski Center. We totally enjoy our visit there because we just ski out the door; there are beautiful snowshoe trails available and we enjoy them all. Several of the group totally enjoy the sauna while others must take part in night skiing and tubing. There is something for everyone. This year the conditions were excellent and the trails were well-groomed. Everyone of the 12 participants had a great time.

The variety of terrain, meticulously groomed trails (along with backcountry trails for those who prefer this), and the warm, inviting facilities with superb cooking (Finnish specialties and savory, homemade soups, chilis and baked goods) all combine to make Lapland Lake a treasure.

My husband and I recently spent three days at Lapland. My husband is more the "winter type" and I prefer the beach. I have cross-country skiied in the past, and if and when I return to Lapland Lake, I will enjoy skiing again! The trails and the snow are so much better than at home, and the beauty of going out your back door to get on the trail is a real asset. The lit trail at night makes a nice ski in the moonlight, esp since we had a full moon when we were there. Olavi expertly grooms the trails every morning and he makes them so pleasant to ski on. The wood stove in the tupas give it a nice warmth and it is pleasant to return to after a nice ski. The café for lunch has really nice choices, and they have provided for meals delivered that you can have delivered to your tupa if you so request. I advise you to bring some reading material, as it really is a quiet time with no TV or cell service. Northville is very close to visit if you really need to use your phone They do have wi-fi at the lodge..If you visit Northville, by all means go to the Country Store . The people at Lapland go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay, and there is absolutely nothing negative that I could say about it. If you want to cross-countryski and/or snow shoe, that is the place to go.

Great cross country skiing less than four hours from NYC. Terrific trails for all levels including on a frozen lake, in a beautiful and secluded Adirondacks setting. Excellent staff, good food, fantastic snow and great workout

Lapland Lake nordic ski resort is the greatest. In addition to cross country skiing on impeccably groomed trails, there is also snow-shoe trails and a few small tubing hills. If you don't have your own equipment, they rent all kinds of gear. Also, I recommend staying there at their Tupas (cottages), right on the trails.

Returned again and was met with 6i of fluffy snow, great trails, friendly staff. I just love the place. Ann and Olavi may be moving on (a bit), but it's hard to beat a day on the trails, skiing or snowshoeing.

Its well worth the drive to greater Metropolitan Northville for the great skiing, and warm hospitalityat Lapland Lake. The trails are very well maintained, and the Finnish ethos permeates the enviornment. For those looking for an alternative to glitzy, overbuilt down hill ski resorts, this wilderness and sense of peace here is the perfect tonic. You can ski out your door to a wonderful trail system. This was my 4th visit-and I will be back.

We went up to Lapland Lake for Thanksgiving, and we got the added bonus of over a foot of snow to ski on! Having the holiday dinner in our tupa was perfect - it was peaceful and cozy, and our surroundings were beautiful, all covered in snow. It gave us time to be together as a couple without the stress and chaos that all-too-often accompany holidays. We both agreed it was the best Thanksgiving either of us have ever had. And even with the influx of skiers and visitors over the weekend, the staff was attentive and courteous, and made sure we had everything we needed from the first day of our stay to the last. Of course, the sauna and my in-tupa massage from Michele made the stay that much more special, as always.

We visited Lapland Lake ski area for years but have not stayed in the tupas till this March. The experience was amazing. The tupa was very comfortable, with plenty of amenities. And it was really great that ski tracks started just near your door! We were lucky to get fresh snow, so everything around looked gorgeous.Alex and Maria V.

I took my 11 year old daughter for her birthday....the first time ever on skis.................the staff was warm, encouraging and very helpful.....we wound up skiing most of the two days, skating a little and snowshoeing a little but mostly skiing............the trails are glorious and well groomed....it made us xcountry ski lovers in a hot second! The beds in our Tupa were incredibly comfy and we are really picky! The woodstove was already set up with perfect kindling in it so we could warm up the second we finished for the day...Kids just cant get bored here and , a plus, the food was really delicious.............and that is from a serious cook..Ann and Olavi have thought of just enough of everything to make the serious or the Novice skier happy. kudos!

I've heard about this Nordic skiing destination for years, and somehow never got a chance to get out there until this year. What a great place! Very warm welcome by the proprietor Ann, absolutely perfect skiing conditions and fabulously maintained trails. I went with my teen-aged son, and we couldn't believe how often we felt like we had the these perfect trails all to ourselves. Grooming was impeccable & signage was great. The "tupa" we stayed in made our trip. We loved it. The great food, brought right to our tupa was icing on the cake. We definitely plan to return!
